  • It has a very Switch-like feeling to it.

  • Honestly, if women, as well as persons of color and the LGBTQIA+ community, having rights and freedoms is such a threat to America - both as a country and a “way of life” - and they cannot coexist, then as an American I would happily say goodbye to America.

What that means, and how that would work, scares the ever loving shit out of me, but no one deserves the shit America does to them.

  • The Nobel Piece Prize should go to a slice of cake.

  • You ok bro?

  • But I'm saying, why do we have to sexualise it? Because a few people do? Because someone at Meta knew some person would and used it as a sly marketing technique?

This is why. Especially because Meta is doing it as a “sly marketing technique”; they are exploiting a child using her sexuality without her express consent (I don’t give af what the ToS says about implicit consent), and now if anybody who has seen those ads, sees her on the streets they might harass her about it.

It’s noble of you to want to keep normal things normal. In a perfect world, none of this would be an issue at all, and Meta would’ve reached out to the girl and/or her parents to ask for permission. People wouldn’t be up in arms about it, and we’d all be living happy, productive lives as a utopian society.

But that’s not the word we live in, and pretending otherwise is a disservice to those who are exploited. We must recognize the atrocities for what they are, and act accordingly.

  • Oh boy do I have some news for you! You sure as hell can (and should) get a cake. You do you, and if you want to celebrate: CELEBRATE!

    Congrats!

  • Southern Baptist. It’s what I was “taught” by some uppity Sunday School Teacher (or the preacher, or both).

  • Goddamnit. Now I got that tune stuck in my head. Thanks, Obama!

  • All fluids are super.

Who’s a super fluid? That’s right, you are! Super fluid! Now sit. Stay

  • Here you go!

    😬

  • It’s not for everyone.

  • It’s called anxiety. A lot of people have it; even us Orwellian Americans. 🙄

  • Everything, everywhere, all at once. You’ll thank me later.

Except for the hotdog fingers; unless you’re into that sort of thing.

  • That was exactly my first thought.

  • Another way to think about it is to say that education is the memorization of knowledge, while intelligence is the application of said knowledge. i.e. book smarts vs. street smarts. They aren’t the same things, but are two building blocks that work together.

At least that’s how I look at it.

  • After we finally got really good JavaScript support, it’s not entirely surprising that everyone went crazy with JavaScript. So it makes sense that now we start stepping back and reevaluate what genuinely needs to be JavaScript and what doesn’t. Especially now that HTML support has gotten so much better too.

  • No spoilers, so don’t worry.

All of the characters get better as the show progresses. Something for you to look forward to is the entire episode dedicated to Miles’ suffering. You’ll know not when you see it. That’s all I will say in the matter.
