Online Identity and bad faith lists! eg 'Openly Transphobic'! WHY?

I don't get what an accounts real world reality has got to do with their online presence? It is of no concern to me what gender, race or how you identify yourself. I judge characters that I not likely to meet in real life based on the content they share and interact with it online.

Thankfully Bluesky has started to react to Bad Faith lists creators.

> Moving forward, lists and starter packs with insulting profanity, > slurs, abusive terms, or unproven allegations will be hidden from > other users in the Bluesky app (but still visible to the creator).

Meta AI will soon train on EU users’ data.
  • #Meta says it will resume AI training with public content from European users!

Meta said it will start notifying users in the EU about the training, and will include a link to a form where they can object at any time. “We’ll honour all objection forms,” the company said. No need to wait, it is possible to opt out now, but I think you need to do it on each platform.

How Meta uses information for generative AI models and features

You can submit an objection request through your Facebook, Instagram or Meta account. Your objection will be applied to the account that you’re logged in to and any accounts that you’ve added to the same Accounts Centre.

Yet to find a link for threads, and they say they don’t scrape private messages, so no need for messenger?

Threads maybe be covered by Instagram?

Why don't moderation lists have a feed showing who you will be blocking or muting. Solution!

Using skyfeed.app and the below list as input. https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:e4elbtctnfqocyfcml6h2lf7/lists/3l53cjwlt4o2s

I turned MAGA Moderation list by ‪@skywatch.blue‬ into a feed. So you can see the content you will be blocking or muting! Maybe choose to block or add individual accounts to your own list! Using the above as an example only and just a test! It is easy to create these feed for any list/s you want.

    !skyfeed.app blocks

Here is the example feed: - https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:lgjvdkqeeutvf7zj6wow3jro/feed/aaacmyy2orsms Probably will delete the above feed in a week, just using it as a test example!

    Control your own moderation!

  • Irish data watchdog to investigate Musk's AI tool Grok.
  • Doing the rounds now as well by Irish Media i.e. RTE & Examiner!

My approval for my account to be scrapped has been disabled since last year. Have you that setting turned off?

It will be interesting to find out, if the platform is honouring that setting. My account is protected and my last post on the platform was 2 Feb and a reply on 28th March.

Didn't know of change in the international name: -

[1] XIUC advised the DPC on 25 March 2025 that, from 1 April 2025, the name of the Irish entity and Data Controller for EU users of X would change from Twitter International Unlimited Company (‘TIUC’) to X Internet Unlimited Company as part of ongoing Twitter to X rebranding efforts.

Edit: - Linking to grok settings not allowed on here?

  • Cool feature add is to change your interests you first selected when creating your account. So if your still seeing a lot of cats & dogs pictures. You can finally un-select that option.

As for chats. That is set to only receive chats from ongoing conversations for me. So don’t think I will be using the react feature much.

Also on android, had to search for the update. It did not appear in apps needing to be updated!

Jaz's 📌~ 'PushPin' Feed was offline recently, create your own?

If you were reliant on it? Are you think that method is to public.

You could create your own feed with skyfeed.app using your own specific string of characters instead.

The two emojis that work on their own in regex are: - 📌 & 🔖

I have setup my own feed that searches just my own accounts. Example of the fields needed on skyfeed are: -

I have update my own regex to contain the following:-

Pretty new to Lemmy, so don't know if people look for Bluesky support on this? The content which I have posted a few times on Bluesky got re posted today. So I thought I would try post here as well.

One of my favourite methods is kyst.app has a DM method and webpage to see the bookmarks so cross device support. For private DM's to an alt, and I still use the 📌/ 🔖 method.

What is people views on the latest stream of content under 'Clarity' category from RTE?

    The linked title from yesterday!

So a new Prime Time article to get the 'Clarity' categorization! A long drawn out article which had me more confused at what they are trying clarify to An Irish (or diaspora) audience. I get there are Irish people involved in the peacekeeper missions.

Main takeaway from it for me is the usual attack on social media and disinformation. ~~ "information war" ~~

Tried to get a summary from www.perplexity.ai but it couldn't scan or read the article, probably robots.txt blocking it!

So asked a full up question on the subject and got below summary: -

    > In summary, social media serves as a potent tool for spreading > disinformation against UN troops, complicating their missions and > threatening their safety. The UN is actively working to address these > challenges through innovative counter-disinformation strategies.
