Good guess, but I am not from Germany. I just like the feddit instance.

Nonetheless you are right. The clock, the time zones - all of it are arbitrary and purely human inventions. However, I would argue there is an inherit value of keeping the timezones as accurate as possible.

My argument stems from seagoing. It makes much more sense from navigational and travel stand point to have the time zones roughly correlate to the zenith of the sun. I presume in aviation it could be similar, but not sure about that one.

This would make the navigation easier, travel easier and we would have some kind of concrete, unified system.

Of course dropping the DST are just baby steps. There are so many things wrong with our time system, but one can start somewhere.

In essence I guess I just want the time zones to mean something instead of this madness, that we have.

But if this is the consensus, that things should start earlier, then why not start them earlier, and leave the clock alone? Let the clock be a device that says, when the sun is roughly in its zenith.

Work begin time or school begin time are fairly superstitious and can be changed. I don't see a reason to change the clock.

Why? You do realize, the summer time is the offset from the real timezone? And also it does not change the amount of hours we have in a day. It is still 24h :D

@Melchior@feddit.org and @e8d79@discuss.tchncs.de I did look up our loan options and we were denied for two reasons:

1. We have one chronic utilities non-payer in the hose and another one chronic late payer
2. The house is made out of wood and thus is considered as high risk.

Ich kann mir eine Episode, von wenn Ich noch unter 2 Jahre war, noch abrufen. Sie ist sehr kurz, fast wie ein Bild, aber es ist da.

Also es kann gut sein, dass die Erinnerungen doch noch da sing, man kann einfach nicht zugreifen.

As the article says, this problem has several layers.

We have also energy problem in my apartment in Riga. State offers us something like 70000€ to insulate our 120 year old hause. The catch is, me and my neighbors have to pull that money together, do the renovation and after the fact we are reimbursed. But dude. Who has such money laying around!?

I'll double my donations to Ukraine and Europe will just have to step up. There is no other choice.

It’s a shame really. The harsh reality is, we are not moving fast enough away from cars in general and in the mean time affordable EV could bridge this, and Tesla so far is the only manufacturer of EVs, that’s some what affordable and has a decent second hand market. I just wish they would fire the clown of a CEO and become a normal car manufacturer.

In unserem Haushalt es ist ein wenig schwach mitm Sparren, da wir noch in eine Wohnung-Renovierung sind. Aber was wir gegönnt haben:

• Ein E-Auto (wir haben eben eine Familien-Erweiterung erlebt und müssten irgendwie rum kommen)
• Hochwertige Lebensmittel
• Spenden für Ukraine gegen russen
• Ab und zu mal Essen Bestellen

Worauf verzichten:

• Jegliche Streamingdienste (wir haben überhaupt keinen)
• Jeglichen Luxus Sachen
• Neue Handys und Computern (ich habe eine Laptop aus 2016 und Handy aus 2021 und so etwas ähnliches bei meine Frau)
