The filibuster might be the most effective congress-paralyzing tool in US history. The Senators who want to do nothing at their job (all Republicans and too many Democrats) will fight tooth and nail to keep it.
I buy games on GOG when they're available, but it seems like their market share is getting smaller as time goes on.
That said, the barrier to entry for a Steam competitor is non-existent, so they may never really be able to have a true monopoly. They can still have problematic levels of influence, though. I'm sincerely worried about what direction Valve will take after Gaben retires or dies.
I use a calorie counting app, and since you never exactly hit the goal, I add up the leftover calories I have every day and spend them on cheat meals once in a while. That way it's not really cheating.
Full-time jobs that don't pay a living wage should be illegal. No matter how "beneath" you the job feels, if we need someone to do it "full-time" then anything less than a full living is a rip off, and you have to either advocate for taxpayers to subsidize the employer's greed or that they overwork to make a living.
