A lot of what I like about myself, personality-wise, partially stems from the experience of being trans. I think I would be less compassionate, less free-thinking, and less fun person without all of this. There's hard parts, obviously, but I would never for a second trade my life for a different one ❤️
I can play custodian if you need it. It'd be super lame to see this community get goofed on by spam or bigoted stuff, after managing to regrow so fast.
I love that we have the fidelity here to implement things like "downvotes are at 0.2x power" and stuff like that! That sounds cool, should totally try that out and see how it ends up feeling. I think people would ultimately be OK with a near-zero-power downvote, if that ends up negatively affecting conversations too much.
There's a lot of fashion options you can try out to draw less attention to your shoulders, if you want. Thin, open jackets can be a good compromise in warm-to-hot weather, for example.
I tend to get stuck just flipping through Youtube if I spend too long choosing anything, so it's usually lofi or a chiller album I'm aware of. My most productive time ever was when I was listening to Getz/Gilberto basically on repeat for a month. Still one of my favourite albums.
I don't think it really matters either way whether there's downvotes or not,
but I super want to point out that you do not need to get into random debates with people who are just breaking the rules of a community/instance and being bigoted. The correct response is to report and ignore.
AFAIK this is actually what most sites do internally (converting it into a webp or mp4 or whatever). Discord does this too, it's just not as hidden on this Lemmy instance.
