I've heard sketchy stuff about GoTraxx btw
I only ride bikes and sometimes skateboards, but micromobility can be a year round solution in a lot of places as long as you dress for the weather and the weather isn't too extreme (though even in extreme weather, sometimes people still do it).
I have no regrets except for trusting a shitty budget bike and breaking my arm last year (ENGWE EP2 Pro had a faulty front fender with no safety features, good times :(). Just allow for adequate time, wear protective gear, and ride with a visible camera. Those are my main suggestions.
Having good infrastructure makes this a lot more doable, but it's still possible with shitty-to-no infrastructure at least sometimes.
Good luck!
Might want to specify which market you're in as options can vary. I'm more of a bike guy, but you'd probable be OK with Ninebot, Niu, or Segway as long as the specs fit what you need.
Van Rysel’s new EDR CF Ultra is described as the “definition of what a true endurance bike should be,” combining a carbon frame and up to 38mm tyre clearance

Yeah, they're really good at that.
They learned that by the time all of their shitty decisions ruin everything, they'll be able to bail with their golden parachute while everyone else has to deal with the fallout.

If that day comes and you've got the money, Bromptons are kind of king there. Otherwise there's knockoffs like Cranston, Takachia, Mint, etc. Those are all trifold bikes, bifolds like the Zizzos, Dahons, etc, ride better but don't fold as small.
Cyclists gathered at Youngblood Bicycles on July 3, 2025, to honor Jacob Hill and Lennie Antonelli, killed while training in Madison County.

The Ultraviolette F77: Mach 2 is a sporty-looking naked electric bike, with a motor that delivers 39bhp and 74lb ft of torque.

Any casters you'd recommend? I've been intrigued by this idea after seeing someone with a Mariner that had one.
Dahon makes good stuff. If you are looking for an affordable folding bike, Zizzo is also a good choice. Tern also makes some more affordably priced folders like the BYB.
Personally, I have a Priority Folder which is more expensive but also has a belt drive and 8 speed IGH: Love it!
Not fixed later, fixed maybe.
The metro area is known for both bike trails and breweries, and here are our favorite pairings, from Luce Line and Back Channel out west to Pryes and Utepils in town.

Aren't carbon credits basically a scam anyways?

In the sort of urban environments that encourage the short trips at which e-bikes excel, the cost of reputable and safe brands is often a nonstarter.

Yeah yeah, call me when they actually start making stuff with it. I've been hearing about this (or something extremely similar) for at least 2 years and nothing seems to have made it to market yet.

I understand where your rhetoric is coming from but factually speaking: People can think and the charade billionaires are calling "AI" cannot.
A bright, flashy folding e-bike with cool tech, a responsive ride, and heaps of customization options! It’s not uncommon for e-bike brands to make updates to their bikes between new model releases. In most cases, these changes are small quality-of-life improvements, such as minor gearing changes, ne...

"AI" (read: LLM) isn't even in the same class as stupid people. It doesn't think at all, to suggest otherwise is a farce. It's incapable of actual thought, think of it more as autocorrect applied differently.
One of the most interesting bikes at Eurobike was quietly sitting right out in the open without many noticing what was going on inside.

6 kilowatts and 280 Nm of torque is definitely overkill for a pedal-assist bicycle.
