It doesn't really say but I suspect it's to prevent people who live in the dorms from bringing in some garbage with a sketchy battery that is more likely to cause a fire.

I do agree the practice of forcing people to use your vendors is sketchy but apparently it only applies to people who live on campus (still though).

Can't speak for anyone else, but I've never had this experience in any bike shop: Most places seem happy to get people into riding and are fine with a utilitarian outlook on cycling.

I can do that with one of my lawnmower batteries. It doesn't charge via USB C, but it does have a USB port and can function as a battery bank.

Yep, on phones and other mobile devices, lower resolutions help significantly with battery life and framerates. Tiny super high resolution displays are pretty much pointless unless you're using a VR headset (then the resolution matters more).

Well, the thing is the 1080 on the 4k projector still looks a little better than it does on a native 1080 because it upscales with pixel shifting. It doesn't look as sharp as 4k, but still a bit better than 1080 (at least from ~10' at 120").

Pixel shifting is for when it upscales, isn't it? If you have a 4k source, you'll get a 4k picture from what I read about this series.

That said, 1080p upscaled definitely still looks better compared to the old projector (though the newer one is also brighter, which also helps).

Why only derailleur bikes? Doesn't seem any better with an internal hub either.

It can make more sense on an ebike though!

On a computer screen or a phone screen? No, it's not really noticeable. Hell, on some phone screen sizes/distances, you might not even be able to tell 720p vs 1080p.

On a 120"+ projector screen? Yes, it is definitely noticeable.

I have a small home theater and picked up a refurbished 4K LED projector (Epson 3200) coming from an old 1080DLP (Viewsonic 8200) - massive difference!

I suspect what will actually happen is this bill will go nowhere. If it starts to go somewhere, business interests will step in and squash it because of the many, many, many problems it would cause.

That in itself introduces numerous security problems, still incredibly stupid and all this surveillance data makes for a hacker goldmine. Not like governments have a great IT security track record.

I prefer bikes, but e-scooters are hard to beat in terms of compactness.

I would definitely consider a car/micromobility package like this. Currently just stick my Priority Folder in the back of my Subaru but eventually I'll have to replace things.

You might be able to find stuff but I very strongly recommend against cheaping out for safety reasons, especially on the battery.
