Inside the Republican false-flag effort to turn off Kamala Harris voters
  • She was never anywhere close to the left to abandon it, but there is a fairly loose definition of what constitutes 'the left', especially in online spaces.

What she did represent was a chance to be a change, but solidified in reinforcing the status quo, which has been resoundingly unpopular.

The Cheney roadshow and advertising the border policy drafted by hyperconservatives didn't help. Sidelining Walz didn't either, especially since he was the stronger message on proven policy.

But really it was the most unsurprising course of action the Democratic Party could've taken, so I can't say that bait and switch sentiment should be felt by anyone else but newcomers to American politics.

  • The Democrats must become an anti-establishment party | Robert Reich
  • There are a whole lot of folk that plain demand full support of genocide as the cost of doing business/having rights. Reluctance to support genocide is viewed as eroding the foundation to their very way of life.

  • Kinda true
  • "I am not actually 'shoving' you into a locker Timmy. I am merely using mechanical force to shut the locker door through its hinges and simply allowing your body to find the path of least resistance: inside of it."

  • Illegal land grab in Bosnia-Herzegovina? - Chinese company built wind farm on private property without the owner's consent
  • investigating whether state subsidies are giving them an unfair advantage over European competitors.

This makes it seem likely the farmer was gonna get screwed either way. It isn't that a company trespassed, but that the company that did it was Chinese.

  • BI: AOC asked voters why they backed her candidacy and Trump's reelection. They said the economy and Gaza.
  • The final days and weeks the Trump campaign hit the swing districts saying all the things people had been asking Biden and Harris to say.

Biden made sure there was no question there would be 0% chance of course change. Trump, being Trump, could shrug his shoulders one day and decide to change course. Higher than 0% but still probably 0%.

Dishonest politics, but that's how campaigns use issues to win elections. It sucks and we're all in for the very preventable ride now.

  • So beautiful
  • I actually kind of enjoy powerlines and junction boxes. There's a level of engineering that is both rough and delicate that is magnified by how orderly and chaotic they are alike.

Now if the power lines are at the expense of a view through trees, that'd be more a bummer. Likewise if the trees remain that's a hazard waiting to happen, which is also a bummer.

Buried lines and conduit pipe are preferable in most cases and share similar aesthetic characteristics.

  • The algorithm
  • The only reference I have for this was someone who I knew who rubbed said slime on herself for YouTube when she was 17 to build a following for when she turned 18 and started camming.

  • US Elections question: Bernie Sanders said that the Democrats abandoned the working class, and the working class abandoned them. How is this true?
  • Unemployment is typically measured by people seeking unemployment benefits, not by volume of people out of work.

Similarly job creation is usually measured by job offerings and not positions filled.

As a result you can get what has been happening: low unemployment and high job creation where people aren't getting jobs and jobs aren't being filled.
