From the Green Portal [40x40]

An exciting map in a forest clearing, this map was excellent fun to run in my campaign. With ample opportunities for cover, positioning becomes key. Impactful choices and quest hooks abound, this map is begging to be used. Some possibilities are below, including roughly how I used it in my campaign.

Scenario- Escape: The antagonist has gained the help of a powerful wizard who is able to teleport them to the players. perhaps they had a tracking device on them, or a mole, or were seen? Do the players flee or fight? if the antagonist must retreat, do the players give chase through the portal?

Scenario- Ambush: The party comes across a clearing inhabited by a sect of the ghostwise clan. Do they attack, attempt to talk, or sneak away. Vice versa: the players find this clearing, and are attacked by those waiting in ambush!

The statue: depicting an old general and imbued with his spirit, taking a piece of the statue connects yourself closer to its memories - but be warned, if you lose the piece, you lose a part of yourself as well...

Scenario- Friendly Faces: a group of traveling merchants is corralled in this clearing - or friendly ghostwise halflings living on platforms up in the trees - or an old friend NPC traveling on the road - or admiring adventurers following in the parties footsteps. Can they be trusted? Will the party be attacked at night by owlbears, wolves, or enemies of the night?

I roughly used this in my campaign as part of their main quest. They tracked down pacifist ghostwise halflings who rode flying giant owlbears and lived in the trees, became friendly with them, gained the item and information the sought. Then the bad guy came through the green portal and they fought him and his minions, all the while sewing up a net to let a giant owlbear fly them all away to safety. they killed the main guy but were close to all dying, so left his other companions alive, along with any loot.

Floating Boat Restaurant with lots of different terrain hights. [30x40]

I created a patreon ! Other versions like a night version and one without sails are under a paid tier on there.

Some of the content I put with it from patreon: I hope will help you out being a DM!

New Battlemap! This map offers multiple types of terrain, different levels of high-ground, multiple choke points, opportunities for acrobatics, heavy weaponry, and more! Whether you need background scenery for a nice relaxing dinner or an assassination attempt (or both!) This map works great!

There are a few good ways to use this map:

  1. have the party enjoying a lunch and have to either defend or escape the boat (or escape with the boat) from attackers on higher ground.

  2. Have the parties attack the ship/people on the ship. You can start them off on the high ground or in the water.

  3. The party must sneak aboard the ship and steak some goods/check out nefarious activity without being noticed. The choke points make this delightfully difficult and encourage creativity

  4. Something else entirely!

Features to use as a DM or player of this map:

Encourage your players to use these features in combos that make combat super cool! Ex: cover + Terrain: Have an enemy be on level ground behind cover. if the player gets to higher ground, they can see over the cover!

  • For cover: there are trees or a bush at the top cliffs, a stone wall above the second set of cliffs , and the ship Railings. You can rule these as 1/2 cover, full cover, or whatever makes the most sense given the defender and attacker's height difference. Improvised cover can be made by flipping tables on their side.

  • Terrain: There are 3 levels of terrain on land, and then there is the boat and the crows nest. The top cliffs at the very bottom of the map are above the whole scene and can see all other people, except those who are hiding pressed against the cliff, or under an awning. The cobble boardwalk path can be considered level with the boat, and not see attackers above if they are lying flat. By the water is the lowest level that is generally seen by everyone. The highest level either level to or above the bottom most cliffs is the crows nest on the front mast of the ship. a tall ladder must be climbed to reach this high ground, but it's exposed!

  • Nooks and hiding spots: There are rope ladders up the side of the boat that can be used to hide from people on the boat or to board it. There is a hammock off the front that cannot be seen into by people on the boat. Carts rolling by along the cobble path can be used to hide in/behind, and get close to the boat, or make a sneaky escape! The small row boat can be used as an escape, or flipped upside down and hidden under as you walk away Pirates of the Caribbean style.

  • Acrobatics and Athletics: The rope tying the boat to shore can be crossed (DC 13-15 Acrobatics check) for a quick escape if the wooden ramp is too exposed/occupied/being watched. The cliffs can all be climbed. If using the map version with Sails, they can be unfurled and climbed, or cut to entangle people on the boat.

  • Weapons: The small, portable catapult can be operated with anything the players can find, from small barrels to stinky fish.

How to Shake up combat: (Either as the instigation, or every 1d4 rounds, throw a new complication at your players (don't go too overboard):

  • River Monster or Water elemental attacks! Maybe it's pissed at folks eating all the fish, or it's just new to the area and wants a ginormous hug.
  • A shark comes and bites off part of the wooden ramp, cutting off one of their escapes! they either need to use the boat, tightrope walk the rope line, or brave the waters with the shark to escape!
  • It starts to thunder and lightning, and the boat starts to move vigorously with the waves! all of the boat is now difficult terrain!
  • A lighting storm strikes the mast of the ship, causing it to fall onto the skip. everyone in its way or up in the crows nest needs to make a save to avoid it!

Bonus Non-combat encounter idea:

  • Some fish swim up to the boat. It's a mad rush for the fishing poles as each player tries to beat out the other guests for one of these notoriously hard to catch fish. Their meat is worth a lot/eating them is a powerful drug/their scales are magical.

Advice on Creating a Community
  • No worries, enjoy the wedding! I'd love to make all my maps foundry modules then, I just can't justify buying it for that when I don't actually use foundry myself. Maybe if my patreon ever takes off. My current group mostly plays in person but for the few online sessions we do I just use roll20, since they all have computers that I don't think would run foundry very well, and some just use tablets. Foundry is definitely my favorite VTT I've used as a player though

Islands and Bridges in the Sea [24x36]

Looking for a fun stop on a seafaring campaign, or a place of mystery and murder in the night? This map is for you! With multiple small islands, narrow ripe bridges, daring jumps, scary sharks, piranhas and cannons, this map has it all!

Things to consider when using the map:

Who lives on this island? Are they friendly to strangers? Why are the boats here?

What sits atop the rocky outcropping, surrounded by piranhas? perhaps...

    • The closest connection point to a different plane of existence
    • One of the only known places you can speak to a specific god
    • An old sword lodged in the stone
    • Gems embedded in the rock
    • A rare variety of mini crabs that are a delicacy on the mainland

What crops are they farming? Are there footprints in the sand? Ask yourself these questions and more when plotting your devious use of this map.

Map variants and higher rez versions are available on my patreon, and include a normal, high saturation, and night modes with grid and gridless options, all 4k quality. an 8k version of the normal map is available as a bonus. This map is 30x40 if you are using a grid or VTT.

My campaign currently has nothing to do with the ocean but I’m thinking about either making this part of some alternate dimension, a large lake, or even a dream sequence. Otherwise, this may have to wait until I inevitably run a pirate-like campaign. Let me know if you have any ideas on how to integrate this into a more “normal” campaign setting.

A Jungle Clearing [54x27] for a free oneshot I made - Dungeons, Dinos, Diners, and Dives. Help Guy Fieri and fight dinosaurs!

I made a free oneshot called Dungeons, Dinos, Diners, and Dives - Feel the Fieri!

Problem was, this subreddit has relatively few large jungle maps when I was looking for a good boss fight arena. Hope this map helps anyone else who is in a similar boat. If you are interested in the oneshot, an overview and download link is below:

    Adventure Overview:

The continent of Terradon is known for two things; Dinosaurs, and the restaurants that serve them. Guy Fieri has asked for your help in saving a now struggling dino diner. Its grand re-opening is tomorrow, and they need rare dinosaur meat to make the main course. It is up to you to pick your prey, track the beast, and bring home the dino bacon in time for dinner. Don’t forget to bring your aprons and chef hats for when you prepare the meal! This oneshot is almost entirely combat, with a bit of tracking and cooking. Character level of players choice, which will shape enemy options.

A free PDF download is here on my patreon, where I go by Zephy'rs Air.

My patreon also have more variants for this map, including night modes and HD/watermark-less versions.

Thanks for checking it out, I'm open to any and all feedback as I am new to adventure writing!
