Gaming often fetishises the new but many great things exist in the past, so let's strap into our time machines and talk about our favourite games released before say 2010?
Suikoden 2 remains my favorite game of all time even after the series died in the mid 2000s. The game has so much personality and atmosphere along with a solid battle system and engaging recruiting loop. If you haven’t played it (or its predecessor) I highly recommend them!
Edit: thinking about it, Reddit had a community called patientgamers that specialized in talking about old releases. If Lemmy has an equivalent yet it would be cool to hear about!

Coming out to my friends as trans/lesbian was very easy, with all of them instantly accepting me. My family was almost the exact opposite, with them being confused and angry at first and then denying it ever happened later 😞
