Too soon?

  • The Democrats failed by trying to find common ground with the GOP - the electorate is more divided than ever, and if they want Trump, they're not going to vote for Trump-lite - they'll vote for Dorito Mussolini himself... and here we are.

  • Had a friend that took the conspiracist road to Nazism, and this isn't an exaggeration - the dictionary is a Jewish plot, so is any empirical evidence, the existence of qualified experts, observable phenomena...

The small mercy is that the idiots and monsters that voted for Trump and the dipshits that couldn't be bothered to vote to stave off fascism will drown in the river of shit alongside the well-meaning folk that did their best (or anything at all) to stop this.

  • And the fraud was definitely real - the Democrats might have spent tens of millions of dollars on the campaign, but they secretly didn't want to win again this time, so they didn't do the fraud again, guys...

  • wait, instilling global-level racism is not fascism?

No. Fascism is fascism. This exact flavor of stupidity/dishonesty is why I asked where you get your nonsense definition. You don't need me to define fascism - just take the five minutes to pick up your preferred dictionary or even better, Umberto Eco's widely respected definition and educate yourself.

there is one possible outcome for this election

No. There are two (bad) possible outcomes that vary massively in the scale of death and suffering that they'll lead to. To draw and argue a false equivalence is not only to dismiss that easily preventable death and suffering - it's to advocate for it. Also, not relevant, but not my country.

If you're not American, you can't vote, but where you're failing to lift a finger is that you refuse to ease off your meaningless virtue signalling bullshit around the election a massive number of lives are at stake.

Pull your fucking head in and stop enabling the deaths of who knows how many people you dishonestly claim to care about as you weaponise their suffering for nothing more than your ego.

    Absolutely disgraceful.

  • sigh

What definition of fascism are you using? It sure as shit isn't the dictionary or Eco's - words have meaning.

That aside, there are 2 possible outcomes for this election - that's a simple, mathematical reality. If you care about brown people, which of those two options will cause the death and suffering of far more of those people?

...but rather than lift a finger to actually help those you claim to care about, you're going to throw them under the bus and empower the worse option because you can't swallow your pride and vote for the lesser of two evils. An I right in thinking you'll risk those peoples' lives so that you can virtue signal with a Green vote?

  • Hooray for courts stacked with sycophants and partisans, and liberals enabling fascism because meaningfully opposing it would be uncivil.

There's slim hope that Trump losing the election along with his viability as president or leader of the GOP would see his protections make way for consequences, but even that seems unlikely.

  • Your prescription seems to assume that either:

    1. Everyone can be rehabilitated, which no society has ever achieved.
    2. That it's preferable to push a well understood risk to people's lives back into the community than it is to keep that risk in the care of the state where they can't kill more people.

...but you strike me as too sensible to prescribe that kind of thing, so what have I missed?

  • Hold it in Palestine, get murdered by Israel.

Hold it in Iran, get murdered by Israel.

Hold it in Lebanon, get murdered by Israel.

...but Israel is less homophobic than them, so Israel's genocide is good, actually.

Are you able to explain why the Nazis were bad in a way that doesn't implicate Israel?

  • Permanently Deleted

  • I'll ask again because you dodged the important question - Does Palestine have the right to defend itself like Israel and what would that look like to you?

Which specific 2 state solutions are you referring to? I assume it's the ~1994 deal that collapsed because Israel couldn't stop their terrorism and assassinations throughout the negotiations, and the Partition Plan that violated the UN charter with respect to national self-determination and carved out the majority of the territory to the minority Israeli population.

To defend the genocide of Palestine as a necessary lesson reveals a let's say... interesting moral framework - particularly as Israel escalates aggression against Iran and Lebanon. Putting aside the obvious genocidal intent, rhetoric, and action, how does an exterminated population learn any lesson?

Your argument is the best possible case one could make for the genocide of Israel - they are the regional threat and aggressor - they are the ones that (by your sickening logic) need to be exterminated to teach them a lesspn. The outcomes of the actions you're defending have civilisation-ending consequences one way or another, and zero benefit - why do you hold these positions?

  • You don't need the permission of a European kid to vote for the least shit option for your government and kick the can of fascism a little further down the road. The recent is close - the outcomes delivered by each candidate aren't - you shouldn't need encouragement to vote accordingly.

  • Cultural Bolshevism > cultural Marxism / post-modern neo-Marxists.

Immigrants polluting the blood of the nation > immigrants polluting the blood of the nation.

    unified Reich > unified Reich.

Hooray for populists that aggressively fight against anything resembling worker solidarity, planning to end democracy, convincing people that it's for their own good, and bumbling their way into Nazism.

  • There isn't a third option.

You get the neoliberal that will be broadly disappointing, and likely perpetuate the situation in Palestine, or you get the open fascist that will make everything far worse - including Palestine, and potentially end US democracy. Both are bad, there's a yawning chasm of difference between the two.

Your spectacularly priveliged abstaineousness and the false equivalence you're drawing (even on the single issue you've pointed to) in such a critical swing state is cripplingly naiive, and gambles with the lives of who knows how many Palestinians, Ukrainians, and Americans. To sit back and vote for a Russian asset in this context is frankly disgusting.

There are 1,458 days of the election cycle to push for better - there's only one for keeping the fascists out of power, and you chose not to.

  • Not actively, gleefully making things worse. Biden is doing this.

Working to stack the Supreme Court, and triggering a constitutional crisis in the process because the Republican Senate will refuse confirmation, and the Supreme Court that was stacked with self-contradictory GOP bullshit will agree with them would be the interesting move that won't happen because the Democrats are cowards and institutionalists rather than fascist monsters.
