Why do you use firefox?
  • It was my first browser so I stuck with it. I tried other browsers over the years, but I am used to firefox stuff, and ublock works better there.

  • People who use Mouse acceleration, why?
  • Yeah, I forgot about you guys. Trackball and trackpad are much better with acceleration.

  • People who use Mouse acceleration, why?
  • I know that ChatGPT is sometimes wrong, but it gave me a source that seemed legit.

A study by Dr. Levi Harrison, a hand surgeon who specializes in RSI, found that gamers who used high mouse sensitivity and mouse acceleration were more likely to develop RSI. He also found that gamers who used lower mouse sensitivity and no mouse acceleration were less likely to develop

  • People who use Mouse acceleration, why?

I know its enabled by default. This question is mainly for people who prefer to keep it enabled.

When I was playing with chatgpt he told me this:

    > > > When you use mouse acceleration, you have to move your mouse more quickly to cover the same distance on the screen. This can put more strain on your tendons and muscles. Additionally, mouse acceleration can make it difficult to develop muscle memory, which can also increase your risk of RSI. > >

From what is says it can be harmful.

I know chatgpt is sometimes wrong, but found only one source (Dr. Levi Harrison) that agrees and nothing more.

Now that some time has passed, what do you like and dislike about kbin?
  • I like that Kbin has microblog, tags feature. With that I can browse mastodon content easily.
Another one is filter posts by type, for example If I want only Threads (text only).

The things I doesn't like are mirror but:

    • no third party apps (yet?)
    • search function could be better (no advanced search, and different buttons for magazine/posts search)
    • upvote vs boost is confusing
  • The square sided iPhone looks shit
  • They are switching between round/square design every few years to look different than previous generation. Which sells products better. Most loyal people will think its new unique design.

  • Which book is your personal bible?
  • The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance, and the Art of Living

  • What is the most universal name?
  • Probably any form of Maria, which is for both male/female. There are many documented usages of the name BCE.

  • What are some video games that made you a better gamer?
  • I feel most improvement playing turn-based games, like TFT, Hearthstone, Slay the Spire.

  • Would you live in a rural area?
  • Absolutely not, I love living in the city. I walk everywhere or take public transport. Maybe if I had a train station near my house in a rural area, I would consider it.

  • Does anyone feel like their life is going according to plan?
  • Yes, I always wanted to not work and enjoy my hobbies.
I started around middle school, and first thought is to get rich. But after a research I realized this takes a lot of time and after many years I might have all free time I want. So I chosen the easier path, where I will have consistently little work with above average money and a lot of free time.

  • I always loved sorting by controversial, so I would keep them, but not to hide them as Reddit does.
Also, I would remove the Activity button.

  • You are right, I didn't know about this.

  • How many hours a day do you actually work?
  • Mostly less than 30 min per day. Then every few months 10h per day.

  • Recommendations of non-Apple products with similar longevity?
  • I was referring mainly to newer models, the older line around 2012 was really good.

  • Recommendations of non-Apple products with similar longevity?
  • I would not trust apple products. Self cracking display on laptop? Updates that slow down devices on purpose? no, thanks

  • I don't think the reddit, twitter, etc will "die" the way most people expect them to.
  • Reddit hasn't made many significant changes yet, but Twitter is working hard to fail.
