Star Trek and Doctor Who Come Together for Inaugural Intergalactic Friendship Day on July 30

  • Okay, the lore on these things is convoluted-but-fun.

These alien vessels were provided to the Khitomer Alliance by a variant Iconian civilization that was found in a neighboring dimension, after a strike team that included an Aetherian ally helped ward off an existence-threatening attack by their variant version of the Borg. Significant similarities exist between these starships, and the Obelisk Carriers found in our own reality, though with more modernized technology and capabilities, including an even more resilient structural field, and improved mobility.

  • individual discussion threads for each episode that come out one or two a day,

BRB adding this as an option

  • Personally, I prefer option 1, if enough people are going to participate.

  • My Agents of Yesterday character became my main for a very long time - lots of fun.

  • I despise ranking things, as I find it reductive.

That said, I think "Boom," "73 Yards," and "Dot and Bubble" were all-timers, with every other episode being sone degree of "fine," in my opinion.

"Space Babies" probably comes in last.

  • I actually have a Dyson Sphere themed character, so I might have an excuse to use it regularly!

  • I want to see more screenshots, but it sure looks purdy.

  • It pains me, I blame everyone else.

Okay, I actually find it somewhat refreshing and/or hilarious when a writer eats some humble pie about some narrative nonsense.

I have to admit, I didn't even notice this specific occurrence - by this point, it was kind of a layer cake of nonsense, which...is not unusual for RTD season finales.

This sounds a lot like a defense of the episode, but it's not meant to be, not really. I just don't mind this specific narrative cheat, I guess.

  • All these years, and still no Pike City Pioneers uniforms. It ain't right.

  • Brinley at S&P Global Mobility says the rise of SUVs is a reflection of consumers' desire to get greater utility out of their vehicles, which means the capacity to move more people and cargo.

Adams said when choosing a vehicle, most SUV buyers don't make their decision based on something that's going to satisfy "95 to 99 per cent" of their driving needs, which is commuting and running errands.

"They purchase their vehicle for the one weekend of the year when 'I tow my boat up to the lake and I want to make sure I can do that,'" he said, noting "it is ironic when they make that purchase and then complain about high gas prices."

  • At this point, I'm giving up on the linear channels, and am keeping my attention on the app.

Of course, the app doesn't seem to contain information about what's "coming soon," so the season might just...appear there one day.

  • I think the secret to its success is that it puts narrative first, which makes it adaptable to all sorts of Star Trek nonsense.

I just wish the rulebook didn't embrace that ethos quite as much as it does!

  • It is a pretty gorgeous book - my biggest complaint is that it can be hard to quickly find and reference specific rules during gameplay. I'm hopeful that the Second Edition will have some imrpovements on that front.

  • Oh yeah, that makes sense!

The other unique aspects are interesting...

  • ☠️

I guess we'll see how it all plays out...

  • I'm intrigued by Gwyn's uniform - it looks almost, but not quite, Starfleet-issue.

  • Well, there was the FASA game from the 80s, and Decipher had one in the 2000s.

Modiphius is the current license-holder, and has published both the First Edition under discussion here, and has a Second Edition coming out later this year.

  • Either way, their dimensions are so different that I guess it would be pretty hard to determine which has the greater internal volume.
