It’s Official: WGA Members Overwhelmingly Ratify New Three-Year Deal With Studios

  • Yes indeed - it's basically a Star Trek version of "Duck Amuck." Very lightweight, but I'm enjoying it more than the actual shorts. The first one is linked here.

  • I'm not enjoying the "series" much, but Frakes was very good in this.

  • A new survey suggests that most Canadians feel news should be free and accessible for anyone

    Yes.

while also believing that media will find other ways to make money.

    Doubt.

  • I would definitely recommend accessing all sorry missions from the third tab of the Mission Journal.

As you progress, it might also be worth looking at the "Available" tab - it will have some story arcs that are a little old and dated, and have been removed from the "main" story without being completely removed from the game.

  • They've also been recalled in the States, so it may have been identified as an issue there, or in another jurisdiction. With only 12 units sold in Canada, it seems likely.

  • When new episodes come out, they get the "spotlight" and everyone can play them for a limited time, regardless of where they are in the story. If you tab over to Episodes, you should be able to see where you actually are - you just have to ignore the automatic hails (there is actually a setting to disable them).

It's a bit annoying, but some players really want immediate access to the shiny new rewards.

  • This content is more appropriate for c/Quarks (and has been shared there already).

  • Honestly, that's distinction without difference.

There are people living here who believe this shit - it doesn't really matter where they got it.

  • If it's being presented by Paramount+ and not CBS Studios, as seems to be the case, I wouldn't hold my breath.

  • I think most people just use "fire all" - I can't think of any significant reasons not to.

  • You might also find this list of key binds useful, as well.

The vertical aspect of STO is a funny thing, as they made the decision early on to not bother with "proper" space flight and keep it pseudo-2D, on the grounds that the TV shows have almost always presented Trek ships as being aligned on a single plane.

  • My biggest question to start with would be "PC or console," if you're looking for control-specific tips.

Generally speaking, ship combat in the early game revolves around a basic sequence of events:

    1. Get their shields down. If you have the Tachyon Beam science ability equipped (I believe your default science officer has it by default, so it's just a question of whether it's been unlocked yet), use it ASAP when you enter combat - the only catch is that your opponent has to be in front of you to use it. Otherwise, stick with your phasers, and circle/broadside them, so you can use the fore and aft arrays at the same time.
    2. Once their shields are down, or at least low, come around and hit them with your photon torpedoes.
  • Also, what happens if you fill out the text, and put a URL at the top?

Your post will basically include the link, along with a text box for you to add whatever context or commentary you wish.

  • I'm not a big Borg fan, but the new Borg are certainly more mechanically interesting.

I'm curious about the new allied faction - they must be from a novel or something.

  • It’s from the second episode of Season 1 but Saru is wearing his uniform from Season 4 of Discovery.

I'm pretty sure it's a nod to TAS and other cartoons of the era having inexplicable errors when it comes to character models and animation.

  • Ideally, other VFX houses across the industry will follow.

  • This one is very dumb (and I expect the others will be as well), but it worked a lot better for me than the first one.
