Gaming often fetishises the new but many great things exist in the past, so let's strap into our time machines and talk about our favourite games released before say 2010?
  • Quake III but no I or II? I see you've got DOOM on your list, I'm curious, did you not like the first two quake games or just didn't play them? Otherwise you've got my list down pat (plus a few extras).

  • The first cultivated meat is approved for sale in the US
  • Dang, I figured CO2 emissions would be much better than traditional livestock but I wouldn't have guessed that much better.

  • What's Lemmy reading?
  • I've been getting into beekeeping so I'm soaking up as much info as I can. Just finished up Honey Bee Democracy by Tom Seeley. Fantastically interesting book regarding honey bee swarm preferences and decision making. Next up is an English translation of Beekeeping for All by Émile Warré, mostly because I want to read his thoughts on his hive style and management practices.

  • What kinds of things from reddit would you like to see Lemmy avoid as the user base grows?
  • To be honest, I don't think that's entirely just a Reddit thing. Power tripping mods have been around as long as Internet forums have in general. It's a tough one to combat for sure.

  • I went to Reddit today...
  • 11 year old account here, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger. So much time spent on niche subs that will be hard to replace, but I suppose that means I should be more active in any similar counterparts on Lemmy to help them grow and flourish.

  • What game is improved the most by mods?
  • Wait, hold on. Multiplayer Slay the Spire? Is it like playing against one another or is it cooperative? I haven't played in a while but I have to hear more about this...
