  • And you still have to buy an even number. Also, only if all items are the same price.

  • I am surprised by this, I assumed that with the Switch 2 out, Nintendo would be done making Switch 1 consoles and just selling what they have in stock. If that was the case, Nintendo would be cutting prices to clear out warehouses and reduce storage costs.

The fact that Nintendo is raising prices means that they expect to sell every single Switch they have and will need to bring more into the country (so they are going to be hit with rising material costs to manufacture and then tariffs).

  • What is cheap for one person is expensive for another. People have different levels of disposable income. For some people, a Switch is just a device to use while waiting for Steam to download patches. For others, it is the only gaming device they plan to buy this decade.

  • As a heterosexual cisgender white man, I have to be careful that what I say does not insult or offend those around me. Doing otherwise would be rude. Back in the day, we called that etiquette.

Now, some people might be thinking "well I am not racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever so I never have to think about what I am saying." Good for you. I am approaching 40. When I was growing up, there was no such thing as trans inclusive language. You were an ally if you did not call LGBTQ+ people "fa***t" and super inclusive if you did not use "gay" as a generic negative adjective/adverb (i.e. "The teacher gave us homework even though we also have an essay due at the end of the week? Gay!"). A few years ago, a gay friend (and here I literally mean that my friend is homosexual) called me out and made me realize how my speech patterns on sexuality were super heteronormative.

We have to periodically reexamine how we talk, especially around sensitive topics, and make sure we are not implicitly saying things we did not mean to.

  • I don't think I have even heard of an Oodie before. Is it just a super oversized sweater made out of some material commonly used for blankets?

That might be something my wife would like as a Christmas present, but then I will never see her body shape ever again.

  • It is inconvenient to leave an adapter connected to my headphones, because I want to use the same pair of headphones for my tablet, computer, and Switch, all of which have a real headphone jack. I also need to buy an extra adapter for the aux cable in the car and constantly have to debug if it is the audio cable or adapter that is going bad.

  • What adapter do you use? Seriously, I am open to paying more for an adapter once instead of buying cheap adapters over and over.

  • Splendor Duel is more complicated to teach but has more agonizing decisions (lots of times when you can make a good move that also enables good moves for your opponent or you take a bad move and deny your opponent opportunities).

For some people both of those are positive changes, but I think both are negative.

  • Tomatoes have been bad for us for the last couple of years. Last year, we got a good yield of cherry tomatoes but large tomatoes only started to ripen before the cold killed them. This year, we only planted cherry tomatoes and are just now getting the first few. My coworkers have confirmed that their tomatoes are also super late this year.

You are right about chives, asparagus, and berry bushes. Once those get established, you will have to work to keep them under control.

  • There is also a link to Steam so you can sign up to be notified about when you can give OP money.

  • No, you just need to come to terms with your urge to be a woman.

It is more difficult for gay men who have to accept the fact that women are not gross.

  • You do not get to vote. You drew a curve for question 12 when the instructions specified a line.

  • The important quote from the article

What the launch sales of Switch 2 primarily tell us is that they made a lot of Switch 2 to sell at launch. Lifetime sales and launch sales of a console often do not correlate, meaning that some consoles with small launches ended up doing incredibly well lifetime (PS2 only sold 400k in its launch month) while others with big launches ended up not doing as well lifetime. Since launch month demand is rarely satiated by available supply (and it is certainly not a great sign when it is, historically) all we can really get a read on at launch is the confidence of the manufacturer to make so many units available, and the ability of the supply chain to get those units into the market.

This is still very positive news for the long term viability of the Switch 2 because having a solid install base means third parties have more incentive to port games to the system.

  • Remember, you can always block the haters. They can talk about how they are still not buying a Nintendo system and you can have a constructive discussion with people who agree with you.

  • For the Blazers? Ideally, Dame is going to put up good enough numbers to get fans to come to games but not good enough to really ruin their lottery chances.

  • Nintendo clearly wants to transition to digital only for some reason, even though they're releasing some first party games on the carts still.

I keep seeing people say that, but I don't see any evidence of it. Nintendo (or at least the video game publishing division) seems to be the biggest proponent of "game on cart" releases. Even Limited Run Games is announcing that they will make Game Key Cards for many of their releases.

  • I am surprised that college basketball gets more viewers than NBA games.

  • Ok, but what does that have to do with studio logos? Did WB spin off DC Studios?

  • The Celtics just sold for $6.1 billion. Both teams have a comparable legacy, though LA is a much bigger (shared) market. At the time of the sale, the Celtics were the defending champions and favorites to win again with a young set of players. The Lakers are a contender, but would need a bit of luck to get there, and LeBron is on the wrong side of ancient.

Overall, it seems like a fair price in the context.

  • Not shocked that they traded him. I am more curious about who will be left. Tatum for sure since he is an all-star with low trade value. Probably Brown, since the Celtics are (hopefully) not in total tank mode and it is impossible to get comparable value back for a player of his caliber. Who else will they keep though?
