Absolutely don't. Lemmy is ran by volunteers for the people. It doesn't have corporate backing. You would be filling it with content it doesn't need and most likely cannot handle.

If they actually continue on their path of ensuring no ad blockers work on YouTube, I will simply cease watching it completely. I really hate how aggressive advertisement became over the years. I didn't mind non-gore (because some ads shown really gruesome health issues) and non-porn side panels which didn't animate. Hell, sometimes I'd click if they had what would interest me. There is absolute zero chance I will buy anything which bothers me. And I won't let it waste the time of my life.

Democracy doesn't work. People don't have a fully free will and don't make informed decisions in a world where the rich dictate the narrative by being able to dictate what narrative gets put out to the people. Most voters I've interacted with are single issue voters. In many regions there is no real choice. Usually political options are someone who promises not to do anything at all, someone who obviously lies about potentially making some irrelevant stuff better but definitely won't and then someone who panders to some manufactured social issue and promises to handle it (they usually implement the most changes, for better or mostly worse). In most regions there is only right wing parties available to vote for and you can choose your flavour of religious right wing, hip right wing or eco-fash right wing. I always want to vote but then actually research the options and find there is literally no person I agree with the program of so at best I can choose the one I least disagree with. It's really sad. The world will never be fixed through democracy or voting. If either had the power to improve it, it would long had happened. The world is as it is because of people who aren't suited for power being in power, be it politics or through money.

I have nowhere to go if I don't find housing and if I have to spend money on AirBnB and shit like this I will probably not have money for a deposit if I ever find anything. Doesn't Microsoft do the same (i.e. killing the Windows phones)? It really kills any incentive for me to buy their products. I feel safer actively avoiding them. It used to be you felt safer buying from big names because they were here to stay. Surely enough, companies are but the products aren't and customers turn into victims.

I do agree they should replace the mods who do the strikes. The mods should've quit out of principle. They will go back to modding as usual soon if they haven't already to fill their need for the sensation of power. They're doing unpaid work for a for profit organization. I'd like all the mods to quit and for Reddit to have to pay for moderation or face the consequences. But I don't care about the third party apps at all. I'm just perplexed by mods letting themselves get exploited like that.
