They've been backing a genocide and demonizing the university protests. That's very real, physical things that are on the right the Democrats are doing.
I remember watching a lot of RvB. I always wanted to get into RWBY but never got around to watching it. Despite never watching them for years, this makes me sad.
I've been trying it out because I kind of skipped that edition, and tbh combat has been pretty amazing. Every battle is fun and tactically interesting. It's really been scratching that itch I had for dynamic, teamwork set piece combat that I was afraid I was going to lose when some people wanted to play "DnD" and I really didn't want to play 5e lol. It can take awhile because health is too big but once we instituted a common house rule and reduced enemy HP by 25-30%, it's been perfect. We've just been doing a one-shots and tiny modules while the players humor me trying out this edition, though, so no idea how it will scale.
But now I do wish I had given it more of a chance before. Admittedly, now we have the benefit of hindsight, and some 10 years of common house rules recommended by the internet that didn't exist when it first came out. I might even switch between it and PF2E from now on depending on how much I miss the cool critical rules and 3 action economy of PF2E vs dynamic forced movement rules and simple but abstract AEDU actions of D&D 4e. Although we'll see if the sheen of newness fades at some point.
We need a one-state solution but Israel has stopped every attempt at peace and reconciliation since before it was even a state. They purposefully funded Hamas and have taken key parts of the West Bank to prevent Palestine from having a state. They don't want peace. I don't know why that's so hard for people to understand, especially considering the violence they've been doing to Palestinians for years before October 7th. They put Gaza in an open air prison, cut off travel, electricity, food (they put them on a calorie limit - cruelly calling it putting them on a diet), sleep (the constant buzzing of drones made it difficult to sleep or study in Gaza and constantly traumatized them with stress and fear), Trash, water, etc. I hate the both-sidesing. Hamas is a response to horrible conditions. That's how they recruit. Israel needs to stop being an oppressor, they need to make the move or be forced to do it. It's not a both sides need to be nice kinda situation. One side is a response to the other side's violence and colonialism, one side is a symptom, not the cause.
I still think this place better than Reddit, though. I think a lot of the good users left, even if a majority weren't politically aligned with original Lemmy. I browse through Reddit front page links when I'm bored at work, but I rarely find good stuff in the comments like I used to. It's just mean and toxic, or vapid and pointless.
Well I like free and I really need to tighten my budget with how expensive everything is getting. Thanks for the recommendations! Now for the hard part of figuring how to change all my passwords from one manager to another lol.
Thanks for the great summary! It answered my questions as well. I hope you don't mind but I liked your comment so much that I put it on !bestoflemmy@lemmy.world
I appreciate the clarification, but I was curious how they avoid redundancy. Luckily, for anyone else who is curious, @MerrySkeptic@sh.itjust.works put a summary of their distinctions in a comment below.
