Awkwardtheturtle banned - Rare Reddit Admin W
  • About 10 years ago I guess I offended some deranged lunatic on reddit who proceeded to stalk my account and down vote every comment I made and would leave weird, vaguely threatening replies to my comments. I had no choice but to delete that account. Luckily there was nothing that could have publicly identified me. I don't think people need to see who is down voting comments.

I ALSO don't like that I tried to delete this account but it interpreted that as a "request" and it needs to be "reviewed". Fuck that.

  • I don't actually like that. At all. Might have to delete my account and switch to a different one that respects basic privacy.

  • CEO Who Said Safety Is a “Waste” on Board Lost Submarine
  • "You know, at some point, safety is just pure waste," Rush told CBS' David Pogue during an episode of his "Unsung Science" podcast. "I mean, if you just want to be safe, don't get out of bed, don't get in your car, don't do anything. At some point, you're going to take some risk, and it really is a risk-reward question."

There's a slight difference between driving in a car and going to the bottom of the ocean in tin can. These are not equivalent.

This dumbass earned his Darwin award, it's just too bad he had to take four other people with him who were lied to about the safety of the expedition.

  • "Tipflation" may be causing tipping backlash as more digital prompts ask for tips
  • You seem utterly clueless. Old people don't work as a greeter at Wal-Mart for "extra cash" they do it because they would be homeless otherwise. Teenagers can be exploited, old people can be exploited, but it's fine because you consider fast food to be a shit job. You're a gigantic asshole.

  • "Tipflation" may be causing tipping backlash as more digital prompts ask for tips
  • You're implying that certain jobs don't deserve a living wage, but it's fine because higher wages exist in other jobs. So should fast food just disappear? Who is going to work these jobs that don't deserve a living wage? Slaves?

  • Reddit Admins Deny Subreddit Users the Right to Vote for Further Blackouts
  • At the beginning I figured they would come out of this largely unscathed even if they went ahead with the boneheaded API change, but they just keep fucking it up even harder with every single decision they make. It's like they want to alienate everyone, from the power users to the mods and even the lurkers. Reddit has always been about self identity as a community, but they are destroying the community feeling. Fuck em, reddit's dead to me.

  • All mods of /r/self and /r/shittylifeprotips were removed and suspended for 7 days without any warning first.
  • Treating unpaid volunteers like they are employees who you can threaten and abuse because they are dependent on you financially is the dumbest, most reddit like phenomenon I have ever seen. They must think we are all hopelessly addicted and will come crawling back when the last dopamine hit wears off. Honestly any mod who is treated like this and then goes back to work for free needs some kind of intervention.

  • Andrew Tate indicted and will face trial on rape, human trafficking charges in Romania
  • This reads way too clearly to be trump. Needs more run on sentences, narcissism and at least one totally bizarre non sequitur.

  • Is this like a deconstructed Cottage Pie? This is too avant garde for me.

  • Voters think Trump is a criminal, Biden is too old and DeSantis is a fascist: poll
  • Biden got more votes in Florida in 2020 than DeSantis got in 2022. Even if you assume Florida is a gimme for the Republicans that doesn't really mean shit nationally.

  • Reddit CEO slams protesters, says he'll change site rules
  • So, by his reasoning isn't he the ultimate "landed gentry"? He's CEO simply because he's been there since the beginning not because of any particular business acumen. Should we put it to a reddit wide vote to see if he should retain that title or be kicked to the curb? He likes votes, right? He likes democracy, right? Right?

  • Reddit CEO slams protesters, says he'll change site rules
  • The striking workers are pompous, gilded aristocrats, we must break the strike and crush the unions so us poor common CEO's can have a chance at a little fairness. Woe is me!

  • Reddit CEO praises Elon Musk’s cost-cutting as protests rock platform
  • If they go through with letting users vote out moderators it will be an absolute shit show. Brigading alt-right discord channels will organize the ouster of pretty much every "librul" subreddit's mods and destabilize the entire platform. In a few months it will be a voat like hellscape. I don't think this idiot would mind that though as long as he gets his big payout from going public.

  • According to someone on a discord server I am in, Reddit has started adding watermarks to every post?
  • Yeah, but redditors will just steal and re-post those creator's content like they have always done. In which case reddit will be watermarking stolen content.

  • Republicans Declare Banning Universal Free School Meals a 2024 Priority
  • You see, the issue is if you spend money to guarantee children aren't going hungry then that money isn't going into the pockets of some billionaire instead. And they just can't handle that.
