I have a confession to make... I code in Comic Sans
  • It's not even monospace

  • just curious, why are downvotes not allowed on beehaw?
  • Why not surface communities based on activity. As in how active the comments section is. That way agreements and disagreements are weighed equally.

  • just curious, why are downvotes not allowed on beehaw?
  • This can also go the same way for upvotes. If you have to put some thought into a disagreement you should do the same for agreement. So upvotes should be removed too so the platform just operates on voiced agreement or disagreement in the comments.

  • how do we report problematic instances?
  • p2p makes sense in this situation. It can end up being a massive battery drainer if we are talking smartphone implementation. (coming from torrenting reference point and how it eats battery on phones)

  • how do we report problematic instances?
  • I can already imagine a few ways that can go wrong. This would be a awesome way to do it though but there are many issues that would have to be addressed for that.

  • how do we report problematic instances?
  • The good thing is you can always run a tiny instance for just yourself and not defederate with anyone if other communities defederate too aggressively.

  • just curious, why are downvotes not allowed on beehaw?
  • Pulling a YouTube over here I guess.

  • how do we report problematic instances?
  • defederation should be kept to a minimum and saved for big offenders only. I think best option is for lemmy to have an option to hide posts from some instances on a per user basis.

  • how do we report problematic instances?
  • Reporting isn't good. I do think users should have an ability to block instances for themselves. (you can do that right now if you run your own instance)

  • The endless submit button loop.
  • that's a common issue. Might be overloaded with the influx of people but it posts anyway if you refresh. Reference

  • Why do you personally prefer using an Android phone?
  • It's more open and not locked down to proprietary software.
