Libs making death threats for critical support to Russia
  • I still think it’s valid to dismiss someone who calls for killing communists because they critically support Russia.

  • Libs making death threats for critical support to Russia
  • That’s like saying “as an anarchist how can you support the oppressed rising up if the organization is hierarchical” (not that some anarchists don’t agree with that logic, but there are also better and anti-imperialist ones that don’t). “If you’re not at your goal every step of the way are you really trying to achieve your goal?”

  • Should there be a new basic ML study guide?

The classic one is probably good for a well rounded revolutionary, but it’s kind of long for a beginner, and there’s also newer theory that’s not included, but is necessary for understanding todays material conditions. It feels weird sending baby leftists a long list of old dense texts. I’ve been sending people Principles of Communism, five essays on Philosophy, Blackshirts and the Reds, and the Red Deal. Is this a good idea? I feel like it’s important to inform modern MLs of socialist history, and also I should probably add some works on imperialism. Any thoughts?

  • I could of used this like a month ago when I was making a project on this stuff (China and eco socialism).

  • Which parts of MLism do you find lacking or outdated in the 21st century?
  • So, by international class war you mean like a bi-polar world with the capitalist nations on one side and the socialist ones on the other, not willing to interact besides threats and proxy wars? So, basically you agree with the Chinese position of “no new Cold War.”

    On “is china socialist:”

It is the leadership core for the cause of socialism

The constitution says the goal of the CPC is socialism and eventually communism. Basically every party would say that their goal is country specific socialism and eventually communism. If China is already fully socialist then why does XI say “socialism by 2050?”

Guests: Derek (PlantsFanon), Victor (Red Falcon)

To find the word document that we were reading from, you can go to the podcast share drive, then to go the “Documents” folder. The answer is “YES”, they would support the current idea of ‘Decolonization’. Quoted Sources included:

    B) “Self-Determination of Nations” by Lenin

    C) “The Revolutionary Proletariat and the Right of Nations to Self-Determination” by Lenin

  • Which parts of MLism do you find lacking or outdated in the 21st century?
  • I believe ‘decolonized Buffalo’ has a collection of quotes from the ‘five heads of ML’ that can very easily be interpreted in a Decolonial way.

  • Which parts of MLism do you find lacking or outdated in the 21st century?
  • By failed “international class war” do you mean like establishing an international and trying to do a global strike? I think most people have abandoned that strategy besides maybe WWP. As for China being socialist, even they don’t claim they are. I’d describe them as a mixed economy under a proletarian government. I’m not sure why you suggest a socialist country would try to sharpen contradictions. As I’m currently reading ‘The Correct Handling of Contradictions Among the People‘ it appears to me that the CPC is treating the contradiction between the proletariat and bourgeoisie internally as contradictions among the people, as they already have state power.

  • Which parts of MLism do you find lacking or outdated in the 21st century?
  • I think they mean like the larpers at PCUSA who mostly talk about the valient fighters in WWII, the people at the haymarket riots, or old CPUSA people and act like they (and the people fighting on Russia’s side rn) are so great just because they share a name. Sure they might talk a bit about multipolarity, or their great many enemies (all the “ultra-leftists” from John brown to Gonzalo), but they never actually talk about US material conditions or strategy for revolution.

  • Which parts of MLism do you find lacking or outdated in the 21st century?
  • Theres literally a book by Walter Rodney of that name (it focuses on Africa). For Turtle Island (US) specific books check out Custer Died for Your Sins, Fresh Banana Leaves, we do this til they free us, the rediscovery of America, playing Indian, the red deal, the prison writings of Leonard peltier, and more.

Is it weird to resent when non-communists do good things?

Whenever I see people working community farms or churches helping homeless people I feel like it’s a bad thing because people may get their needs met within capitalism and we should be doing it instead as part of base building. When I was reading ‘Cows save the planet’ and hearing about petite bourgeoisie doing things that relatively help the environment I was thinking that we are screwed as communists if [people are made to think that] entrepreneurs are saving the planet. Then I, of course realized we are screwed instead because of climate apocalypse. Is it bad if a church who is communist at heart is doing good work without intending to transcend capitalism as opposed to an anti-capitalist group doing the same? Am I being irrational, and/or is this normal?

    Opinion on homesteading?

I like the idea of being sustainable, growing your own food, and living naturally. I used to dream about starting a commune or homestead, but now I’m starting to think the idealization of it is petty bourgeois and part of the settler mindset. Starting some farm in the wilderness is very reminiscent of the western frontier, and the homestead act which I am myself a beneficiary of. We don’t need more socialists leaving society, we need more urban farming and an end to monoculture.

What do y’all think about it?

    Opinion on lil Darkie?

From what I can tell he just seems like some libertarian who wants to pick fights. His top song (cover above) is called genocide and features exclusively people that seem to be implied to be Soviets. I expected some horseshoe theory, but the songs just him complaining about haters plus some Nazi related jokes. He’s got a song called Chinese propaganda (feat. MKULTRA), and at first it seems like he could just be responding to the haters on Twitter by joking about his XI Bucks, but then he talks about Taiwan and “our supreme leader” and I’m not sure. If he knows what MKULTRA is maybe he’s not totally ignorant. He also has a song called Isis type beat, which seems like a respectable shitpost, and it reminded me of Yugopnik talking about Isis edits going hard. I did some googling, and all I got of his politics are he is representative of the ambiguous “American melting pot.” Thoughts? Edit: weird YT short of his-https://youtube.com/shorts/W4PrmKB0FX8?feature=share

Opinion on Engels’ position that the distinction between rural and urban should be abolished?

I could see removing smaller buildings and replacing them with more greenery, and maybe building some sort of self sufficient sky scrapers in a wilderness of food forests that used to be monoculture. However, I don’t think it’s practical or necessary to remove existing urban infrastructure and build vastly more across all wilderness. In addition vertical farms and forests can be made in cities, so again not exactly necessary. Obviously we should make sure rural people have everything they need within biking distance, but we don’t need to take it to the absolute extreme.
