Any other Newbees here kinda selfishly wishing they could time-travel to a few weeks/months from now?
  • On the one hand I'm curious and excited to see what happens at the end of the month. On the other hand be careful what you wish for. Going back on reddit now I've realised how toxic it is. I don't really want this place to become like that.

  • I don't see how Lemmy will fill the gap of Reddit - it's resulting in fragmentation
  • This is a good way of describing it. Personally I'm finding that the fediverse is helping me to challenge those old reddit habits of just getting everything from one place. Reddit essentially became THE internet for me and the more I used it, the less I ventured out.

  • /r/Brisbane was surprisingly one of my favourite subs and in reflection I spent more time there than I thought. Hoping the community can take off here the same way it has for Melbourne.

  • It feels like we’re on the brink of something
  • I guess we're transitioning from the fuck around to the find out stage

  • The end of Reddit? Why the blackout is still going – and what happens next
  • Fluctuation of user numbers should at least impact the value of their stocks when they go public.

  • Lemmy Pro-tip for Chrome Users on Android
  • This is super useful. Thanks for the tip

  • Redditors, how do you like Lemmy?
  • Still getting the hang of things. There's definitely a learning curve compared to reddit. Been using reddit for 10+ years and there has been a noticeable decline in the last few years. Things are quite fragmented at the moment and unfortunately the majority of my communities are still only active on reddit.
