How Unity makes decisions
  • Awesome. Thank you.

I've played D&D for years but after this latest bs I've been looking to jump to Pathfinder. Listening to the Glass Cannon podcast has also been very motivating to make the switch

  • Starfield review - a game about exploration, without exploration
  • Maybe it's because I've only just made it to Mars, but I didn't know there was any other way to travel except for clicking and fast traveling. Click load click load click load planet. The tutorial tells you to do just that... is there something later on that says differently?

  • Starfield surpasses 6 million players to become Bethesda's best launch yet, beating Skyrim and Fallout
  • I'm nearing 100 hours in BG3 and absolutely loving it. I'm not even into the full Act 2 yet, still making my way through the act 1 - act 2 transition/passages.

Choices matter, characters matter, story matters... shit is so fun

I've got Starfield through gamepass just waiting to go but I'm still trying to get motivated to start...

  • Mehdi grills Vivek Ramaswamy on his record and past statements
  • 50k scholarship he didn't actually need that then couldn't go to someone who actually needed it.

Why does it matter if he's 24 when he already had hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank? He could have easily paid his own way but lied and said he needed the scholarship and said he couldn't afford school without it. His own tax returns have shown that was a lie...

  • Larian drops Series S split-screen as "solution" to bring Baldur's Gate 3 to Xbox this year
  • They completely redesigned the UI for when you're using a controller. I've been playing on Steam Deck and I love it. You can walk around with a thumb stick or point and click your way around. Abilities and inventory are auto added to radials that you can customize and reorganize however you like. There's a "search" function that helps you dig through any stuff in your immediate area vs trying to point and click your way over each piece.

There are some minor quirks but overall it's awesome.

  • Two brands suspend advertising on X after their ads appeared next to pro-Nazi content
  • "The platform shows that ad to you because algorithms think you're interested in seeing"

There's your answer right there. The platform sees what you're interested in and serves up this ad. "You seem to be interested in a whole bunch of Nazi shit, here's an ad for my product" is not a good look for most companies. It's very simple PR.

  • I don't know anything about Baldurs Gate.
  • There's also other environmental things you can use to your advantage. Some of the bridges and wooden platforms are rickety and can be collapsed by attacking the support. You can also set up your own "traps" by smashing water on the ground and electrifying or freezing it when enemies are on it. Same goes for greasing the floor, makes creatures slip but it's also flammable. Sometimes I'll try to set up potential traps in strategic locations by leaving wine/alcohol/alchemist fire on the floor so I can hit it with a fireball later on for a big boom... So much fun

  • Anyone else?
  • Controller support is actually quite cool. Seems like they built a whole new layout just for controllers (which makes sense because they're gonna have this on Xbox/PlayStation). It's a bit off putting after coming from DoS2 but quickly grows on you.

I want to try and see if I can use the track pad as a mouse instead of the thumb stick though. Would make exploring and navigating menus a bit faster..

    Imgur app alternatives?

With Reddit off the table I've been going back to user sub to waste time and whatever "updates" they've made to the imgur app on Android are awful. Everything is loading slowly, scroll is choppy, ads are terrible (not new)... I used to enoy building up my gif/image reply library and collecting LNI but it's torture now.

Does anyone know of any other options?
