Our HVAC is not on the “battery only” sub panel but that’s a matter of making decisions about the amount of time the batteries can power critical loads vs. cost.

I’m very happy with my Enphase battery and solar setup. Installing their current charger by the end of the year, and will replace that with the Enphase bi-directional charger when it becomes available in 2026, hopefully. Then my Ioniq 5 will become part of the battery system!

I never considered a power wall because I never buy from fascists.

Getting the core of FB users to move off FB is going to be REALLY hard.

I ran a Hubzilla site for a while, and first, it was a pain in the ass to get set up.

Second, the UI is terrible.

Third, Hubzilla seems entirely populated by cranky old men, inexplicable foreigners, and FOSS advocates who talk of nothing else.

I shut it down.

I’ve got under 3k miles on my Ioniq 5, and I’ve only ever used two chargers. One was a DC fast charger on ChargePoint, and it took about 90 minutes to go from 30 to 60%.

Last week I used a Rivian charger and had arranged to get a pickup because I thought it would be a hour or more to charge up.

In 15 minutes it blasted my battery from 30 to 80%. Only downside is it was $27 for that speed.

I have not found Nanoleaf to be super reliable. Perhaps this is just the reality of wifi gear.

The bulbs in particular are flaky for me, and some have failed after less than a year.

Don’t want to harsh your buzz, but I have a patch of thyme that’s 6 feet by 3 feet and several years old only 10 feet or so from a plum tree and a rose bush that nevertheless get hammered hard by Japanese beetles every year.

Invest in a sprayer and some neem oil.

The communities tab now gives a dropdown menu that appears to be correct.

I clicked on the “Communities” drop down and got a site wide error.

The very first page I tried going to off that landing page errored out.
