quick note because i forgot to add this to the post: this is not my art!!!!! this art is by magentasnail on tumblr go tell them they are very cool and epic pls
I already commented but more i just thought of
- Sex is not a binary, no one is the 'perfect' 'biological male/female' its a graph with two like, clusters of stuff that gather around little hills like flowers, most of them want full, bright sun but some of them fall in the middle where the cool, shades or partially sunny areas are (have many characteristics of 'both' sexes, are intersex) and pretending that it is a perfect binary excludes intersex people and also seems to fuck over disabled ppl in a lot of instances
- gender is a colonial construct and systemic oppression of trans/queer ppls is inherently linked to racism and colonialism, because it's presenting the specific social hierarchies and systems of colonizers to be Superior and Right and Good
- trans people come in all shapes and sizes. You do not know the gender or even the sex of someone by looking at them. I am beaming this one directly into my aunt's head because she still tries to sus out the AGAB of my trans friends.
- there are trans people in every country in the world. do NOT think that because e.g. Peru is in south america has very spanish catholic-y culture and is somewhat homophobic and transphobic, that there aren't queers in Peru fighting against that oppression. We are everywhere, and we have always been here.
the fact that just because i don't "look" like a trans person doesn't mean I'm not one. Like, yeah, i'm genderfluid/genderqueer in the cool xenogender way and if i got to control my outward appearance i would literally be a decomposing log, but that's not possible so i will settle for a brown turtleneck and funky earrings. Also, I use any pronouns, you literally cannot get it wrong even if you're trying to? you do not need to correct when you say "she"
old thread but, huge huge fan of Andrewism's stuff on YouTube. His stuff is largely how I got into anarchism more specifically, and the beginning of my radicalization against the state, via his solarpunk stuff.
ah yes. keeping trans kids safe by making them more suicidal. That'll work! (sarcasm)
I think I've always had a kind of admiration for preppers, and have even had similar impulses myself, though I don't really have the money to actually, ya know, prep. It probably has something to do with trauma and a lifelong love of apocalypse media and just growing up in a family that never really had much faith in Canadian institutions. I think the main problems are the individualism and ableism (especially with the former feeding into the latter), but the sheer amounts of skill, knowledge, and dedication that this subculture has I think kind of dovetails nicely with solarpunk and other subcultures/movements that emphasize decentralized societal structure and independence from capitalist systems including the state. I think anarchists, communists, solarpunks and the like can benefit from what preppers have to offer, and vice versa. From preppers, as I understand it, this would be a lot of specific skills and resources--growing and preserving food, weapon knowledge/skills, other means of ensuring ones own safety/survival. From solarpunks, anarchists, communists, concepts of mutual aid, governing by consensus, community building, and in general a sense of hope for a future we grow together.
not the guy i knew several years ago who rambled to me (Latina) about his gf (Latina) and how latinas are "stubborn as mules" in the most fetishistic tone i have encountered to date 😭
i'm not sure if the fact that the image won't load is on purpose, but the effect is hilarious nonetheless
Can one of many the actually-tech-competent humans in the comments please explain why i can never download a pdf of an online recipe unless i send it to myself through a messaging app from my laptop 😭 😭 😭

not gonna lie, I doubled this recipe, overheated the butter/sugar when trying to soften it, and subbed cocoa for hot choc powder because I couldn't find the baking cocoa. The cookies still tasted good, so I think the recipe is probably great if i could do it right.
