How E-Bikes Won Over Europe
  • I swear just last year I was hearing about how Europeans didn't like ebikes, glad to hear I was wrong.

The convenience of an ebike is honestly unbelievable. Steep hills become minor inconveniences and longer trips lose their sting. I live in a fairly bikable city and I really hope ebikes have some sort of explosion in the next few years. They are already pretty common but I think a lot of people would ditch public transportation/driving if they realized how convenient and fun ebikes are, especially in the summer months.

  • Landchads take note
  • This makes absolutely no fucking sense. Comparing a restaurants business model to f2p/saas is absurd.

Fast food restaurants have 2 main selling points, cheap and fast. If you take away the cheap all you're left with is people who don't have time to go anywhere else. People who are interested in spending a lot of money on food are not going to spend that money at McDonalds.

  • What did your parents refrigerate? Mine refrigerated bread.
  • Ketchup is pretty meh to me and my opinion is that, for the most part, anything you put ketchup on is just going to taste like ketchup. So my rule of thumb is that if its dry as fuck or tastes worse that ketchup, add ketchup. Otherwise don't cause it's just going to make it taste worse.

Gatekeeping is dumb though, but I appreciate your desire for a pointless argument.

  • What did your parents refrigerate? Mine refrigerated bread.
  • hehe, suburbs.

You don't have to move to Europe to live a 5 min walk from basically any store you would want to visit on a daily basis. But you probably do have to spend more than you can afford or move to a different town. North american cities are terribly designed and walkable neighbourhoods are sparse and in high demand.

  • Conspiracy Theorists Think Biden Was Hit With Directed-Energy Weapons During Debate
  • Watch Dan Olsen's video on flat earthers. I'm having a hard time remembering details but the conspiracy theories are more of a symptom than anything. These people are looking for a community as well as an explanation for why the world is so fucked up, and why they are miserable. Anti-semitism and conspiracy theories are more satisfying than anything the left can provide.

  • The 300 Greatest Albums of All Time
  • They haven't even loosely defined greatest, so trying to argue on an albums placement is impossible.

That being said to an absolute rube like me it looks like a decent list. The only weird placement for me was Big Fish Theory at 195. Maybe I missed the hype on that album but I'm not sure a lot of people would even place it top 100 hip hop album of all time.

  • What is the best e-book, not because of the content, but because of the reader voice?
  • Simon Vance is my personal favourite narrator. The Dune audiobooks have a cast of narrators/actors but I wish Simon voiced the whole books, he's amazing. The way he intonates adds so much to the text, but doesn't ever get annoying. His acting for the characters is great too.

He also narrated Scaramouche and I genuinely can't tell if I liked the book or his narration of the book.

  • One Neighborhood’s ‘Bizarre Culture War’ Over Bike Lanes
  • My family of 5 owns 4 cars (I've moved out and ride a bike). I'm so sorry families like mine exist lol. They know my feelings on cars and even agree with a lot of what I say because it's pretty incontrovertible. But in the end they don't really care. They metaphorically pat me on the back for riding my bike and continue to live their privileged life style that makes life worse for the rest of us.

Rich people literally don't give a fuck about anyone else. They donate to charity and feel genuinely sad for unprivileged people but will fight tooth and nail against anything that remotely threatens their way of life.

  • Does no-ads transfer?

I paid for no-ads Reddit back in the day but when I tried to transfer purchases nothing happened. Is this intentional? $30 seems steep for no ads but I'm a cheap bastard.

Sorry to ask a question that's probably been asked before, couldn't find an answer.
