Trump says Palestinians will have no right of return to Gaza under his plan
  • There are differences between candidates within each party. And historically both parties have gone through drastic changes. You can vote for like minded candidates at the local level, the state level, and as they gain experience they’ll be better suited to succeed nationally and change the party as a result. But this requires you to actually vote. In every election. Always. And I get the sense that those who complain it’s a two party system the loudest are just offering an excuse as to why they simply don’t vote, don’t participate in our democracy. The people who run for national office in say, the Green Party, rarely have any government experience or real leadership experience. It’s just boilerplate slogans and a clear demonstration they don’t really know what’s going on. Why the fuck would I vote for that? Shit, I can say all the right things and run for President. But I would suck as president because the job is much more bureaucratic management than just saying shit out loud.

  • Mass protests have stopped. A handful of people meeting at a coffee shop or vigil is a stark contrast to bridges and roads being blocked, to school administration buildings occupied. The US is 330 million people and you get how many at a protest now?

And that website is all about Israel and nothing about forced relocations of two million people and the US annexing Gaza for development. But those aren’t Democrat proposals, so whatevs…

  • The protest $hill Stein voters still gonna claim the righteous high ground while excoriating Biden/Harris/Democrats even though every last detail of this story was floated by Trump and pals during the election.

And the “Free Palestine” mass protests have all but stopped since Election Day, movement leaders (who exactly were they?) having achieved their goal of disenfranchising Democrats (but ZERO protests against the Republican Congress that approved funding for Israel).

  • Of course it’s a coup
  • This is too abstract for most Americans to understand. But talk about it as much as you can; to friends, family, coworkers, anyone. As things get worse and the coup resorts to physical enforcement against resistance, people may start to get a clue.

And while I’m here, a hardy “fuck you” to: Trump voters, non-voters, $hill Stein voters! Oh sure, Harris was far from idealized perfection… But lesser of two evils is often all you can hope for in this world. Maybe start voting in the small elections -not just the big national ones- if you want experienced, alternative candidates to work their way up.

  • Trump wants US to take ownership of Gaza and redevelop it after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere
  • You are absolutely wrong. The Democrats were the best case scenario for Gaza and Trump just proved that. You can cry all you want about imperfections with the Democrats but the perfect candidate and the perfect scenario simply does not exist and will not exist. Ever. Do you want to change the Democrats? Then fucking vote in every election, ESPECIALLY the local ones, not just the big ticket ones.

  • Trump says ‘clean out that whole thing’ as part of his plan for Gaza
  • Thanks for the link. It seems the bulk of these recent protests are just meetings at a local storefront or a “banner drop” involving only a handful of people. The street marches, building occupations, and bridges closures that required hundreds of people are simply done.

  • Trump says ‘clean out that whole thing’ as part of his plan for Gaza
  • Ah yes, whataboutism as the answer to any uncomfortable comment. So tell me where and when these protests are occurring. I used to see them weekly in my city, block-long marches down popular streets. They used to block freeways and bridges and college administration buildings were occupied. Did the pre-election protests ever once target a Trump rally? Or any Republican?

Will people take to the streets now to protest Trump and his Republican Congress’s stance on Gaza? Will the people do anything now that the Democrats have lost?

  • Trump says ‘clean out that whole thing’ as part of his plan for Gaza
  • Hamas could have not done that attack or given up the hostages when it was clear what a strategic blunder said attack was… Hezbolla figured it out real quick and didn’t join the attack as they had promised. Meanwhile, US protests have virtually disappeared since Election Day, as if the point was about disenfranchising Democrats and little to do with Gaza. To this day, people who are so concerned about “genocide” don’t say shit about Sudan.. Anyway, you can carry on all day about what Democrats should have done and it’ll still be true that Biden or Harris was Gaza’s best case scenario in terms of practical action vs Trump and his goons.

  • Trump says ‘clean out that whole thing’ as part of his plan for Gaza
  • Gaza protesters got so owned… All that yelling about Biden, Harris, Democrats, while Trump was openly saying this shit all along. And a bunch of you will continue to only complain about Democrats as Gaza gets “cleaned”. You fucking tools.
