That's what I do. I have a very plain backpack and I just keep my camera in there with some clothes as padding. I do have a dedicated DSLR bag but that's more for days specifically for photography and I carry it on a shoulder sling, in addition to my backpack.
Climate change is one contributing factor but air pollution and pesticide use has more of an impact. Bees get screwed for similar reasons with neonics
You realize this is just a meme about sexism in science, right? Like why take it so literally?
Add Maher to the list. Good god he's so in love with himself.
I'd venture to say a big chunk of those folks inherited wealth. Most millennial homeowners I know inherited money from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and/or parents.
And like many who inherited wealth, these folks often make up their own little rags to riches story about how they got where they're at.
Should be given something else
Makes you wonder why journalists don't bring this up.
Cops on laptops/phones while driving on the highway and getting a pass literally every time they're driving distracted and kill or injure someone.
Every single year in my city someone gets smoked by a cop car/SUV, and the internal investigations always determine via CCTV + phone activity logs that yes their officer was on their phone/laptop, yes they were speeding, yes they went through a red light, yes they failed to have their 🚨 on, but... No, they're never found guilty and the whole internal investigation is the furthest thing from transparent to the public.
That's because it's Wired. Basically a big ass advertisement.
They have this kind of toxic attitude and then act surprised when the lose an election. I can't stand people like this, just so obnoxious.
I have a 30+ year old IBM Model M as my desktop keyboard, and a Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro from the 90s that's connected with a long cable from my PC to my bedside nook. So so so much better than Bluetooth or RGB vomit. That said, to each their own!
I do wonder what jury would convict a Nazi killer
Doubt racist white guys like this would give up their guns and even if they did, it's not very hard to find one for sale via the black market.
Unrelated but love the matching bracelet and thumb ring. Great combo.
As a POC I'd say Lemmy is way better than most similar sites but there's still the prevalent sexism that always seems like the "acceptable casual bigotry" and I'm not a fan of that. The kind of "jokes" that guys mostly laugh at while women mostly roll their eyes at because the punchline is usually heavily reliant on sexism.
I feel like this is a very naive process that implies due process works, albeit slowly, even for cops who fuck up. It doesn't work because cops, DAs and judges all protect each other.
Also, most insurance companies will nail you for misrepresentation or fraud if your driver's license license address isn't updating accordingly with your current address, because different areas have different likelihoods for accidents.
I just don't get why people are so quick to defend cops or give them the benefit of the doubt over stuff like this.
Super accurate comment.
Great shot. I think it's so cool that people are using telephoto lenses on phones. What a time to be alive.
Average person has no clue about this compared to Musk. Not surprised that the founder of a luxury brand is a bastard though.
This meme format is so perfect for this, I love it.

> The City of Minneapolis has agreed to pay $1.5 million to Jaleel Stallings, a St. Paul veteran who sued the city after being acquitted of eight felony charges when he shot in self-defense at Minneapolis police officers during the George Floyd protests.
> Stallings was acquitted by a jury last summer for the charges after evidence presented directly contradicted accounts provided by police and laid out by prosecutors. Stallings, who was protesting the death of George Floyd on May 30, 2020, said he didn't know the people firing plastic bullets at him from an unmarked cargo van were police, so he fired back.
> Once Stalling realized it was police, he laid his weapon down and laid down on the ground. Surveillance video and bodycam footage shows SWAT officers kick, punch and knee Stallings repeatedly in the face and head after he had already surrendered. Officers initially claimed that he had resisted arrest, with a news release describing it as a "struggle."
> Stallings suffered a fracture near his eye, as well as cuts and bruises.
> The SWAT team involved with Stallings were driving in an unmarked cargo van, firing 40-mm marking rounds at civilians out after curfew. Body camera footage showed officers talking about "hunting" protesters. That's when they eventually beat Stallings and another person he was with after Stallings fired his weapon back at them. He previously stated that he "purposely" missed them.
> No Minneapolis Police Department officer has been formally disciplined for their actions during the May 2020 riots as of this day, though one female officer was disciplined for speaking to a reporter anonymously.

To this day, neither the National Guard nor the Minneapolis Police Department have addressed the crimes committed in this video. Accountability works both ways.

> In today's video we are exploring the idea that sustainability is "women's work" and that there might be an Eco Gender Gap. We cover man theories around masculinity, femininity and it's affiliation with the Earth, and much more.
Note: This isn't my video but I have a background in research science pertaining to a field relevant to this video and in my opinion this is one of the best videos I've seen on environmentalism. I believe this video should be shown in elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities.
There's a certain community there that I'd like to filter because a) I find the content/discussions to just be generally awful circlejerky nonsense and b) it's polluting the "All" section that I like to browse.
