CBT can definitely feel that way but maybe if you view it as a way to explore the feelings and thoughts you have an examine if you really believe they're true, that might help? Like... Not everything you think is true. But it makes you feel some kinda way. So sometimes pulling it out and examining in and looking for a new direction to take some thoughts can be really helpful.

My sister and I were having dinner and reminiscing about old movies we'd watched as kids. We got to talking about one and could only remember a single scene, nothing else. We both googled and googled and FINALLY FOUND IT. Then found out it was free to watch on YouTube. Watched it tonight after dinner and it surprisingly held up. (the movie was Little Secrets, it came out in 2001)
