  • I have already switched after arch out of nowhere disabled ipv4. I tried using fedora atomic but the lack of non-free software just didn't work for me (blender + hybrid NVIDIA graphics). I am using bazzite for a week or two and so far so good.

  • Less transporting of LNG over the pacific means less it can escape to the atmosphere.

I have added the * as IDK how in the long term it will play out. Will they close down production or re-route import and export to different markets. The Industry projects oversupply so we will see their moves.

Depending on the program of choice to go with AMD over NVIDIA will heavily impact your performance as cuda is better optimized than rocm. For me rocking rtx3060 it was hit or miss. It mostly depends on the distro if they choose to package the NVIDIA drivers out of the box. Some distros value freedom over usability. Right now I am daily driving bazzite and I am happy with it. For drivers its self I didn't notice any major issues.

From your convoluted explanation I assume you have one PC already and you want to upgrade. I would just get a new one for work stuff and old one set up as "light work" as you put it or hook up to the TVs

  • I think you should map what you enjoy mapping.

I map benches because I enjoy benches (444 mapped already.) and entrances that I use in my job.

Shops and services would be most useful along with bus stops and forest footpaths.

  • Nie ma. Szmer, rekabru lub inna ogólna instancja zostaje.

    jest tylko !poukrainsku@szmer.info

jeśli chodzi o mastodona to jest masto.ink gdzie jest już jakiś jazgot

  • From quick math with 500 rule (500/focal length ) it comes up with around 10s for your camera + lens. More frames means better image.

For F number use as low as possible and adjust ISO for balance.

For stacking use Dedicated program like DeepSkyStacker or Pixinsight. It will enable you to have hundredths of frames.

    For more info check https://r-astrophotography.gitbook.io/r-astrophotography-wiki/stacking-dsos

If you want you can find an object on this map: https://www.skymaps.com/downloads.html and try to point the camera towards it. It's harder than you might think.

    Good luck and clear skies.

  • I had no problems uploading animated webp so this is propably Lemmy.world limitation

  • This is a satellite. Plane would have 2 coloured trails on wingtips.

  • Depending on the lens, the camera sensor and mount you could push it even further. There are calculators to calculate max exposure time.

If you describe in detail, what camera and lens where you using. ISO, time and f stops. How many frames have you taken? How and what exactly have you done for processing I can give you some tips.

  • Definitely cross post to !astrophotography@lemmy.world.

If you tell here and there what equipment and software have you used you can can get couple of tips from me and others.

I think you could have used longer exposure times.

  • Yeah. I get ya. Now I just hang out in fandom communities as moderation in a few other places I would want to hang out is bad.

I have also started avoiding topics like religion as people have strong prejudices against it and any discussions are pointless.

  • Oh! I didn't consider that community existed. Subscribed.

  • I love notifications about replies to the old stuff as it means that the internet has slowed down and new and shining isn't as appealing as old stuff.

  • Usually the reply triggers a notification so at least one person will read it. It's easy to read through the thread to catch up.
