  • I have tried, I can't find a charity that will help me because this isn't something that is written in their agenda. Sadly there is no existing charity that helps ADHD/ autistic people with my problems. I have gone to doctors but they don't seem me to be disabled enough. I have also talked to friends who are actually on disability support in Australia and the support is so limited, there's really not much point in trying. There's a lot of hoops to jump through to qualify, and I'm better off using that energy to find work.

You don't know anything about my family situation. I can't ask money from them. Nor can I ask my friends for money because I'm not going to stoop that low. My friends have already tried to help me as much as they can. I've lost friends because I've been too much. Some came to help me when I didn't ask for it and because it was too much for them, they ghosted me. My friends are not mental health professionals or social workers. I can't put the burden of helping a disabled person like myself on them. But you know what mental health professionals and social workers have not been trained on how to deal with people like me either. So yea there has been no options for me.

If the system has worked for you and helped you when you were at your lowest that's great but it hasn't worked for me

  • You know what, I am living the dream life. Being Australian , I'm so privileged I can use my savings to live in a much poorer country because I can afford to live decently here and I would definitely not be able to back there. I have been travelling and doing really fun things, but at the end of the day I still have to find work because my savings keep dropping lower and lower. When I'm out travelling and doing fun things, I function just fine, I actually do love life. But everytime I have to deal with admin work whether for my travels or for finding work I have really bad meltdowns and honestly it's taking a toll on my body, I don't know how many more meltdowns I can take. And well eventually if all I'm able to do is have fun and not work, my money will run out and I can't keep doing fun things that make life worth living. I'm not a special little angel and money isn't going to fall from the sky and allow me to continue numbing the pain of living with this disability with having fun. So yea, if I can't get my shit together and find a job I don't have much options. And I don't know if you know but ADHD and autism is different for everyone. I know plenty of people who can work just fine with it even if they have their struggles. Well sadly I haven't found anything that works for me. So if I don't find it soon, I'm screwed.

  • Thank you for actually answering my question instead of telling me talking about sucidie is bad. I really do too, but if it doesn't work out, I really hope Dignitas won't turn me away.

  • Thank you, appreciate it. Honestly it's not my first choice of action, but I have tried many things and considered many different options but unfortunately for me I'm so disabled this may be the only option I have if I don't want to end up homeless and as a consequence suffer some things that would be worse than death

  • I'm glad the Australian system has worked for you. It hasn't for me. I have gone through the suicidal care the system provides. I have voluntarily gone to hospital - guess what it didn't work , I felt like committing suicide more but had to hide it so I would be let out. Somebody has called help for me from the police before, even after I told them that going with them to hosptial will make the suicidal thoughts worse, they forced me to go to hospital. The next day they did a welfare check and ended up arresting me based on false claims of domestic violence. The "domestic violence" situation in question was a different time when I tried to kill myself and they framed it as I was trying to harm them. But you know what? The justice system didn't help me because it was a 2 against one situation. It's complicated, but the person accusing me was likely jealous of me and the person who backed them up was their boyfriend. I had no other witnesses around to prove my story and hence I had nothing to defend myself with. The pro bono lawyer I received refused to help me unless I pleaded guilty because trying to prove that I was innocent would take too much of their time. So no, the system didn't work for me but I'm glad it worked for you.

  • It really is systematic. At least that's how the system in Australia is. I have really tried to find accommodations for me but because of bureaucracy or what not, whether it's governmental or NFP support... There is no support for me. I'm deemed not disabled enough. Even going to the doctors and telling them about what I'm going through, they all just keep telling me I need to work harder. It's all because I don't act disabled enough for them.

If I was just given the right accommodations.. I wouldn't need to rely on the government or Nfps for help. I really want to work and live independently. But it's not possible in this current society. I really wish I could immigrate to maybe somewhere in the Nordic regions because I might actually be given the right accommodations there... But at last there's too much bureaucracy around it.. it's not possible for me.

  • Yea not possible I don't have the money for medication or psychiatric care :/

  • Nope sadly not :/ that's why I'm trying to find work that doesn't feel like work. While I could tolerate certain jobs for a period of time in the past... It's just not possible for me anymore now. And as long as I'm given a job that I can do well in, I know I'll be able to hyper focus on it... It's just the job hunting part that I can't do. But if I can't do the job hunting.. I can't find a job.

  • I don't have money to pay for pharmaceuticals or psychiatric care... I'm trying to use the remaining money I have to improve my current life by making it more bearable to live and to find a job.. Does that mean I'm just doomed to end my life on my own if it doesn't work out?

  • Thank you for understanding. It really is the last resort if I can't have the money to support myself. But I read about this woman here who was granted euthanasia because of ASD. But there's nothing to say how she managed to get it approved, that's why I'm asking around to see if anybody knows how I can go about with it if I really aren't able to live independently.

  • Yea I know there are people that will probably miss me but I think eventually they will move on. It will probably hit my parents hardest but whether or not they intended it, they have only done things that have hurt me and they are part of the reason why I have grown up with suicidal ideation. It was really bad when I was stuck with them when I was little. It got better when I went to uni but now that I've gotten older, I think burnout has hit me really hard. I don't feel comfortable talking to my parents at all not even asking them for money. They've also used money to try and blackmail me in the past so that's a big no. And there's no way I can be that piece of shit that asks friends for money especially if there's no way I can return the money since I can't work.

  • I don't have my own vehicle. I also really struggle with noise of traffic/ construction etc. So I've gone somewhere quiet now to try and find work online. But I struggle so badly with trying to sit down and set up my portfolio/ doing my resume, I don't think it's possible. Last year, when I met a guy and he gave me a one day job, I was able to get straight into it and hyper focus on it, but it's near impossible for me to sit down to do the things I need to do to get a job- ie apply for work, write cover letters etc.

If I were able to, it would be easier to find a cleaning/ hospitality job of some sort but even though I've worked in that field in the past, im so burnout now that this kind of work would overwhelm me too much right now.

  • Hmm have you got a link to the video? It would be nice if I can ask this guy how he did it. I really want to move to somewhere like Norway because I heard the Nordic countries have better work -life balance, gender equality and disability support systems. But after chatting to a friend from there today, I think it's too risky, I think I might run out of money there before I can find a job/ become a citizen who could get support.

  • Thank you, I keep doing that, but everytime it comes to trying to find work or doing small admin tasks at immigration office etc, I struggle really badly. But my money will not last me forever, I will run out maybe in a few months... Depending on how I spent it. Right now, things are bearable even if everytime I find work or do admin I want to die, but I still have the money to do things that make it a bit better. Once I run out of money, I won't have a choice anymore, therefore I need to plan in advance. Unfortunately, death is my only option if I can't sustain myself.

  • Thank you but if I had to choose, I rather die than be homeless. There's nothing wrong with homeless people and lots of them are great people but I know if I was homeless I'd really suffer from overwhelm and likely open myself up to rape/ torture so I prefer to die. Is that enough reason for a doctor to allow euthanasia? Because otherwise I will have to do it myself and that's really scary.

In my home country, Australia, I've been to non-profit organisations to ask for help with admin work you need to do to be able to receive government money, which I really struggle with to the point I want to commit suicide. But after helping me once they said they could not help me again, and can only help me find housing. But I was already living in my car at that point and didn't need them to help me with that.

Then after a suicide attempt in Australia, the next day, I was arrested based on false accusations someone else made but even though they weren't true, I still had to go to court etc and almost died in the process because it was so overwhelming.

So no, unfortunately there is no such thing as support in my home country, my only option is to die when I run out of money unless I want to go through more torture.

  • If you haven't been in this situation before that's really great. But right now I have no options for work and having no way to support myself for me personally means life will become too difficult and overwhelming. If you don't have anything helpful to comment, you don't have to say anything.

  • Also just to say, please don't send me links to help with suicidal thoughts, I have been to therapy while I could still afford it but it does not solve the problem of not being able to work. I know lots of people are homeless but I don't think I could do it myself. I am a woman and conventionally attractive and hence will very likely get raped etc if I was homeless, so I prefer to qualify for euthanasia thanks.

  • Thank you but that's not helpful. I have been to therapy and it has not helped me to find a job. I will run out of money and when that happens I will have to kill myself. I know there's lots of brave homeless people but I will not be able to do it.

  • He says he'll give me cash on Monday. But a friend of mine is saying I should insist he does a transfer in case he plays dirty. I would like to believe he wouldn't play dirty but I don't know anymore now after how he's been acting towards me. It's weird I feel so much heartbreak over the friendship 😭
