Mark Rubin leaves Ubisoft, XDefiant officially shuts down
  • It's amazing how much they just copy, copy, copy. Even just some effort to spice it up and add some unique ideas could help.

XDefiant had some decent bones. Not going to claim I loved it by any means, but I had a fun time playing it for a bit when it launched. Then it just did nothing to freshen up the experience so I fell off fast.

Though I've got my eye on Splitgate 2 now, I have a good feeling about that one!

  • The first weekly What Are You Playing? thread!
  • Just started playing Splitgate 2! Didn't really pay too much attention when it got announced, but I saw it was live last night and gave it a try.

As a long time Halo/Arena Shooter fan, this game really scratches a certain itch. The gameplay is crisp, the art direction is fun, and I had a blast. Now I just need to get better at using my portals in game...

Something that stood out to me is that the install (at least on Xbox) was only 17gb! After so many gigantic games, it's nice to have one with a manageable file size.

  • What does your current Spartan look like?
  • I'm a busy dude, but I'd love to find the time to put together a Lemmy team! Shoot me that friend code for sure!

  • Breaking in the nice weather with some Dreamcast
  • Yeah I really need to replace that thing lol

  • Breaking in the nice weather with some Dreamcast
  • No, but I've always wanted to get a copy!

  • What does your current Spartan look like?
  • Always gotta show my respect for CQB. I should boot up my 360 again someday and see if my old H3 spartan is still there

  • There was a special magic to the 3D Renders of the N64
  • Render96 is legendary. Felt like I was playing a version of Mario 64 I saw in my dreams once lmao

  • Breaking in the nice weather with some Dreamcast

Recently got a CRT and have been hooking up my old systems to it. Never got a chance to play Dreamcast on one since I bought mine just a couple years ago. Felt like I transcended when I finally did

This Mario 64 one is my particular favorite. I think it's so funny that Metal Mario has a reflection of what looks like open land and clouds. Pairs well with the fact that in-game his texture was some flowers and a cloudy sky.

Here's my go to. EOD helmet and Banished Deception coating. Can't wait for the H3 EOD to drop on the next event

    I feel attacked
  • I got the bonus 5th one: Linux

  • Canon Fodder confirms Halo: Edge of Dawn novel is set after the events of Infinite, Jega ‘Rdomnai is still alive, also an anthology collection is coming in 2026 of the Waypoint Chronicles plus more
  • With an impending reset for Halo, I'm glad we can at least get some more of the Infinite story somewhere! If I remember correctly, Kelly Gat also did The Rubicon Protocol. That book was an amazing companion to Infinite's story.

  • Looking to get into Sonic games
  • As another long-time Sonic fan, this is the perfect path of recommendation! Sonic/Shadow Gens is a perfect way to open the door to the world.

Using Adventure 1+2 as a journey into the narratives of Sonic is perfect!

  • Four New N64 Recompiled and Ported Games Coming "Soon"!
  • It is!! One of my all time favorites from the N64 so I'm thrilled to see it getting a recomp. Glad to see other Chameleon Twist fans out there!!

  • Steam Deck / Gaming News #17
  • Absolutely love these posts. Look forward to it each week! I'm really curious to watch SteamOS grow into something bigger for desktops someday.

While many of us would probably go to a more specific Linux Distro, having the option for the average user to move away from Windows (especially in a less intimidating or familiar fashion) is a big step forward.

  • That's what happens when you celebrate early

Was down to 3 of us. Guess the other player didn't realize I was still alive, let alone right next to them lmao
