ISPs tell Supreme Court they don’t want to disconnect users accused of piracy
  • It still makes me feel some type of way that Sony (a Japanese company) gets so much sway over US business and policies. It’s something I thought about a lot when Microsoft was trying to close its deal with Activision. I don’t care much either way about multi-billion dollar conglomerates (or trillions in Microsoft’s case) butting heads but it did strike me as odd that a foreign company had that much of a hold on the deal. I get that piracy of media is frowned upon but like the ISP’s are arguing here, the affects of cutting off access to their clientele would have a lot of negative impact. I once again sit here wondering why a foreign company should have that kind of power over American citizens… you know?

  • Who still uses pagers?
  • They offer text messaging as well yeah, but simpler devices are nice. I use my smartphone most when I’m at work, bored in the break from (like right now) but outside of that I just usually have better things to do. I often leave my phone at home in favor of my smart watch which does a lot less but still has my music on it and a way for the wife to contact me which are the 2 main things I value. I’m just saying that even it’s not for the majority, 2 way pagers would likely have a place in the market. There’s a whole group of people these days that love shopping for dumb phones to cut distractions out of their days.

  • FREEDOM WARS [former Vita exclusive] Remastered coming on Steam 10th Jan 2025
  • I still have the physical copy of this lol. Sold my vita but I do still have my pstv

  • Who still uses pagers?
  • Beeper king ftw

  • Who still uses pagers?
  • I think I’d like a 2-way pager these days. They were a little ahead of their time because me and most people preferred phone calls to sending text messages but that’s obviously flipped hard over the last decade. I straight up groan when someone has the audacity to call me now lol

  • Meet DAVE: Discord’s New End-to-End Encryption for Audio & Video
  • I’ll admit that I'm skeptical but since I could not get my friends to start using signal after about a year of poking at them I do appreciate it 🤔

  • As it struggles to find players, Ubisoft's XDefiant will give you $9 in funbucks if you log in a few times over the next couple of weeks
  • Dang I forgot about that one. I played a few rounds when it was new but my COD days are behind me. It wasnt great or terrible

  • The $700 PS5 Pro doesn’t come with a disc drive
  • Most people that I’ve spoken to don’t mention the price. They usually talk about how they just don’t know how to get games in the first place and start talking about settings and updates that they always hear about. That being said, I still don’t know like I said lol. I’m just curious and want to see how it goes.

  • The $700 PS5 Pro doesn’t come with a disc drive
  • 900 to 1200’s an insane guess. This many years out R&D’s sure to have chilled out and companies that buy parts by the millions get them at much lower prices than individuals, plus partner companies that kit out their facilities to manufacture those parts recoup their investments in those facilities over time as well. I’m sure Sony’s still taking a few bucks hit on the sale of a console but it’s nowhere near close to double.

  • The $700 PS5 Pro doesn’t come with a disc drive
  • I’m genuinely curious to how those things are going to sell. My knee jerk reaction is ‘oh hell no’ but there’s a lotta console players out there that want the power but just don’t want to get into PC gaming. Of course there seems to be a lot of people still playing on last gen consoles too so I have no idea where that’s going.

  • What it feels like playing Warframe
  • Yeah I was running sanctuary onslaught to level a frame and as I was gliding and shooting in all directions this scene popped in my head lol

Does Amazon really think anyone out there wants a PC with AI bloatware on it?
  • Yeah, same as Reddit really. I don’t know how many times I saw Reddit comments or posts with “everyone knows”. The reality is that if you took enough time and interest to join an online forum about something, you’ve gone deeper than most people.

  • Does Amazon really think anyone out there wants a PC with AI bloatware on it?
  • I’m sure there’s people out there but I don’t know any. I do have a few coworkers that gush about Alexa and are very happy to have Amazon integrated throughout their life and home (which blows my mind). I assume those kind of people are their intended target.

  • What impact will AI have on video game development?
  • Lower quality and even more layoffs is my guess

  • Resistance
  • But he was twirling a stick at me and speaking in tongues and… Puts on Ring 🤔 Okay I hear it, that one’s on me.

  • Borderlands CEO says his hopes on Epic Store were 'overly optimistic or misplaced'
  • My hopes would be misplaced too if Epic wrote me one of that fata$$ checks. It’s just business, they took a shot and made a few bucks 🤷🏽

  • Railjack: Anyone else legitimately enjoy it?
  • I think it’s a fun change of pace. Unfortunately I enjoy flying in the arch wing most and it’s always hard to compete with the railjack for kills and the main objective like in most gamemodes is usually over on a few minutes
