The "Tech Won’t Save Us" Podcast is doing a series on Musk
  • Do they sit him down and ask him some hard questions because I think that's the only Musk content I can tolerate anymore

  • This blog is great

  • D&D Apps
  • I use Aurora, while the development has been "paused indefinitely" there are still plenty of features that make this app well worth it. There is a pretty exhaustive list of additional content that you can add to the application, making it super easy to build any kind of character you want. I've tried a few of the Android apps out there like 5E Character Sheet and while those might work well for you, I really appreciate the easy item management that Aurora provides.

  • Does "Selfhosted" mean you actually have a server at home?
  • You control the hardware you are provisioned and the software you run on it, which is enough for me. Unless you're looking for a job in the server adminstration/maintenance field the physical hardware access component of it matters less IMO

  • Does "Selfhosted" mean you actually have a server at home?
  • Selfhosting is the act of hosting applications on "hardware you control". That could be rented or owned, its the same to us. You could go out and buy a server to host your applications but there a few issues that you might run into that could prevent you from simply standing up a server rack in your spare room. From shitty ISPs to lack of hardware knowledge there are plenty of reasons to just rent a VPS. Either way youre one of us :)

  • Call of Duty will get a new AI-powered voice chat moderation system
  • Activision claims that over one million Call of Duty accounts have had their voice and/or text chat privileges restricted since the release of Modern Warfare 2 in October.

Amazon Prime Day lowest price great deal!! unless you count last week...or even yesterday...argh...
  • Prime day went from a day I couldn't wait for to one Im mad if I see ads for it.

  • newpipe.net removed from Google search results due to DMCA take down request
  • While I agree this is a horrible precedent to set, the real problem we will start to see as this post points out will be the clones popping up pushing malware APKs

  • Does anyone actually enjoy working out?
  • I'm no exercise scientist so I can't explicitly recommend this to you personally but this is what I use. Basically caffeine with some other chemicals that help you have a productive workout. It's not something you use every time you go to the gym but it helps you push that little bit extra when under load.

Pre workout meals are equally important and I recommend watching some of Jeff Nippards YouTube videos to learn more about what makes a good pre workout meal. Eating in general is important surrounding the gym but again I'm no expert so I'll leave it to them to speak on the specifics.

ITS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT NOT ALL PREWORKOUTS ARE CREATED EQUAL.

Do your own research before making a purchase

  • Does anyone actually enjoy working out?
  • I really enjoy it when I have something I'm aiming for. The accomplishment of hitting a new PR (1 rep max of otherwise) gives me a major dopamine hit. It's going to be different for everyone though, I dispise cardio even though I do it for example. I usually have to trick myself to enjoy it like turning on a TV show or podcast or audiobook I'm really interested in. Recently the Pre-work out Ive been using has had a major positive impact in my mood as well. Not just because of the addition energy but I almost feel euphoric during my whole session.

  • Do you think there will be a good custom with Bluetooth?
  • It's certainly possible, if you're like me and have separate setups for work and gaming you could definitely rig up a Bluetooth dongle for a "work" keyboard. Some boards may allow you to do some more elegant modding compared to others so ymmv.

Ideas for an icon for Lemmy.place

I know it's just the 3 of us here right now but do y'all have any ideas for an icon for this community? The behaw community went pretty hard and themed their whole instance around bees and hives, I don't think we need to go that hard but something to distinguish us from a vanilla instance would be cool.

It could be Steven Universe themed, they have a bunch of named communities that I'm sure we could use.
