  • Capitalism requires indefinite growth.

We have a word for something that grows indefinitely. It's called "cancer", and it eventually kills whichever organism it's a part of by stealing nutrients designed for other parts of the system. The only way for an organism with cancer to survive is if the cancer is killed off before the organism dies.

That's where we're at. Capitalism might have gotten us this far, but the same can be said about any person with cancer. What worked for us in the past isn't guaranteed to work for us in the future, and could actively be what's killing us.

    We have to adapt.

  • Psst. You're not being down voted for not being blatantly anti-capitalist. You're being downvoted (by me) for not adding anything substantive to the conversation.

"100%" as a comment is equivalent to an upvote, so maybe just do that instead next time.

  • So, in the article, the tip amounts were 20%, 30%, 50%, and 100%. They also used capital letters correctly.

I'm not trying to say that a 100% tip isn't crazy, but this photo seems suspicious without any branding, incorrect capitalization and a total of exactly $95.00. Hell, I can't even be sure that this is an actual point of sale machine, it looks like it could just be a monitor.

  • Both achievements and in-game rewards linked to playtime should be banned. The "Tales" game series is especially bad at requiring ridiculous amounts of playtime for character abilities.

50 hours in menus, 25 hours in "combat", and a whooping 250 hours in the game in general for the highest-level bonuses for the main character in Tales of Berseria.

  • This section shall not apply to the discharge of genetic material: Donated or sold to a facility for the purpose of future procedures to fertilize an embryo

Brb, starting an IVF facility. It might not work, and we might only accept donations, but we SWEAR we're trying to fertilize embryos. Eventually. Someday in the future.

  • I'm both glad you made it out and jealous I don't have a similar history with another country to move to. You're a great parent for everything you do for your daughter. Hope the last bit of the trip went smoothly and you find a job quickly.

  • Literally earlier today:

Ok, don't miss your exit. It's XYZ, in just a few miles.

Ok, it's the next exit. Get into the right lane and turn when you can - what's that?

Why did this guy merge into traffic doing 20 under the speed limit? I have to pass him. Did the limit change? Is anyone else passing him? Why didn't he have his flashers on? Is he speeding up now or is he still just causing a hazard by going so slow? Am I the crazy one or is it him?

Ok, it looks like I'm far enough away, but I need to keep an eye on him just a bit longer to make sure I'm not still in danger-- and there goes my exit.

Not being able to choose what you focus on SUCKS.
