  • Gta5 had a shitty single player experience? Did we play the same game? Wtf?or rdr2, another Rockstar game?

Shit on Rockstar all you want, but their game have entertaining stories...

  • Yes, it always comes up Japan is so clean, kids clean their schools etc. How is that not utopian?

Let me guess, you're butt hurt because I said something negative about your dream country?

  • This shit always comes up. Japanese schools also have janitors and ppl that clean the schools. The kids also have to clean regularly, but it's not as if the entire school is only cleaned by kids. They just have to wipe floors after lunch and once a semester do a big cleanup. Toilet cleaning is phasing out entirely. That used to be a thing, but less and less so nowadays. They are ofcourse teaching respect etc, but that doesn't mean that kids don't just throw their shit on the ground or clean up stuff better. They do it because they have to and they don't give a fuck about the why. Most of them absolutely hate it.

Let's not mention all the other fucked up things in the japanese school system that makes it far from an example to strive for tbh. They're only now starting to tackle social issues that were tackled in the 80/90s in the west, not to mention the parrot 100% rather than understand even of a sliver of why or think critically or for yourself way of teaching that is only now veeeeeeeery slowly starting to phase out.

But Japan is this perfect utopia according to the internet... So I guess they'll keep regurgitating this cleaning tidbit until eternity.

  • Dude, you spammed every single video on your channel all over lemmy? Every other community has your vids...

  • Half the time I can't install games from gamepass. On steam I install a game in 5m. On gamepass I have to schedule installing a game 2d in advance and hope at some point overnight it installs. Sucks so hard, because I actually like it. But it's such a drag to actually use, I just don't...

  • That game was the total opposite for me. Played it at launch and sunk in like 40h in a week. Absolutely loved it. Put it aside for a while and I have never been able to spend more than 30m on it since...

  • Not saying I'm a fan of that exact behaviour, but a lot of the tech behind the scenes is driven by passionate Foss ppl :)

I often roll my eyes when I see fear and doom mongering about privacy, but hey, the other side of the coin is equally annoying (people over sharing every single thing they do online :))

  • Lemmy in general has a hard-on for google/windows/non-Foss hate and extreme privacy :) Double edged sword imo, it's probably what makes lemmy great, but the whole shtick also becomes old fast :)

Personally I'll stick to my Google assistance, windows gaming pc and limited privacy (anonimity to a reasonable degree, almost no pictures of myself or my family on public social media).

Life is quite stress-free that way tbh :)

  • No worries. Thx for your thoughtful reply. I understand your point now and certainly don't disagree with it.

  • Pretty normal where I live tbh. Kids use each other's names for each other 99% of the time. It would be ultra weird to use "brother/sister" in daily speech. That's how it's written in shitty books and TV novellas over here tbh...

  • Crazy. I figured the reason Belgians are an outlier from their neighbours is due to their fried potato addiction. So it's not that. Crazy

  • Fair enough. Even if I like cod, I'll still bitch about the campaign this time around. It's not original and not exciting at all. I still don't regret getting it for the mp/zombies.

Complaining is in human nature :p

  • Why mindless? Why can't I enjoy a multi-player arcade shooter without being called mindless?

I almost exclusively play AAA games, with the occasional indie in between. The indies I play are basically all the famous ones that got really big.

It's my entertainment, my time. Why call me mindless? The only issue Lemmy has, this whole "rebel without a cause" attitude against everything that is mainstream :)

A friend of mine is a top level director on a recent AAA game that wasn't very well received. I can assure you, he was very passionate about his game.

  • Sounds about how long it took me. Was a pretty shitty campaign tbh. No cool big over the top action scenes like in previous mw games. By far the worst campaign in recent memory.

  • Never watched the movie, but the book made me thoroughly fear a post apocalyptic society. Tlou or Twd looks like a visit to Disneyland in comparison.

  • One more endorsement for the link bud s. Seriously underappreciated in ear buds. They are ridiculously comfy and sound quite well on top. + you don't look like some weird scifi character. They are very discreet inside the ear.

  • Maybe take the advice from the other posters over mine :). The original series is very dated by now. You really have to love star trek or old stuff to enjoy it tbh :)

  • You heathen

  • Right at the beginning. Chronological. Don't skip anything, even the shit episodes

If you can't stomache the old stuff, any of the new trek series are pretty darn good to be honest. I'm especially fond of Strange New Worlds. It captures the adventure of the week style well, just like the old series.

  • As a high value individual you have to accept that you'll always be a target. Nobodies like you and me on the other hand? Nobody will bother.
