Raspberry Pi 5: EVERYTHING you need to know
  • Uhuh, for work we love raspberry PIs as they're small enough to stick behind a wall mounted TV and good enough to run our display apps. All for the low price of £80~. I'd love it if you have viable alternatives.

  • Counter Strike 2 is surprisingly awful on Steam Deck right now
  • The same was said about the steam controller, but in the end it was still shit compared to a mouse. It's just not feasible in a game as competitive as csgo.

  • Haha, nice try

  • OpenAI admits that AI writing detectors don’t work
  • Oh yeah it's an issue, but none of that is on OpenAI. There's no admission here. It's a statement from an authority to shut up the idiots, like a map maker saying earth is a sphere, something we already know but somehow it's still believed by many.

  • OpenAI admits that AI writing detectors don’t work
  • "admit" like this was something they denied? Everyone always knew that ai text detectors don't work and they never claimed otherwise.

  • Interesting, I have aphantasia and yet I have both hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations on occasion. Other than those I never remember dreaming, although I almost always wake up thinking of the same thing I went to sleep thinking of. And when I do have waking dreams / hallucinations it's always of whatever I was thinking about. If I realise the hallucinations aren't real they immediately fall apart which is a shame, as I don't normally get to experience any kind of mental imagery.

  • Sounds like hypnogogic hallucinations

  • A lot of people microdose magic mushrooms with lion's mane for this reason

  • Personally it just makes me emotional all around, not happy per-say. If anything I'd say it helps me to open up and feel sad, but in a good way. It's like an emotional release. So I can totally see the use in therapy as I personally find it therapeutic already, even without a therapist.

I've not experienced any of the aftereffects that others describe either, but I know some of my friends say they're always very down for a few days after.

  • What's your favourite colony sim on PC?
  • Dwarf fortress, cliff empire

  • Film companies demand names of Reddit users who discussed piracy in 2011
  • Eh, you shouldn't get hit with anything serious unless you're hosting a server that's seeding tons of content. The worst I've seen people who occasionally pirate getting is a 'stop being a pirate, asshole!' letter from Disney or something. I tried cyberghost for a while and it was such trash that I wish I hadn't wasted money on it, I've just not bothered with VPNs since.

  • The supposed "ethical" limitations are getting out of hand
  • Well that's ChatGPT not bing, and no they aren't the same

  • From the CEO of Mastodon: What to know about Threads
  • They're implementing it, but no it currently isn't using the ActivityPub protocol
