California's Governor has words for Trump
  • All moralities of what they are doing aside, them sleeping on the floor isn't that uncommon for the first couple of days moving into an area. Typically the next step would be to get a base or lodgings set up.

  • What is your plan when they turn from immigrants to the "unpatriotic?"
  • It's called a plate carrier, as the name implies it carries just a bullet proof plate that covers lungs and heart from the front and back. They are very useful if you have a lot of gear you need to also bring flash bangs, IFAC, ammunition etc. Sometimes they don't even have the plate in them.

  • What’s an unspoken rule that absolutely everyone should know, but most people clearly don’t?
  • I nearly died the first time I turned the blinker on in the new car. I was changing lanes and I put the blinker on to signal I was heading over their. I saw the car next to me and was signaling to let everyone else know I was going to go over when it was clear. Then the car started making all these noise and scared the crap out of me. Come to find out the car warns you with a loud audible alarm if their is a car near your blind spot.

    Anyway just wanted to share

  • Am I a dick if I don't want to meet an old friend for coffee if she brings her babies along?
  • I don't even think the colleague is a dick. OP doesn't like kids so they wouldn't want to do this, no problem. Colleage has kids and wants to meet up but has to bring kids, that doesn't make them a dick. It's just their circumstance at the moment. I have kids, if I want to go out with friends I either make sure they are OK with it or find someone to watch them. If a friend reached out to me and wants to hang out but I have nobody to watch the kids then I'm not a dick for saying if you want to then I have to bring the kids.

You always have the right to say no. It doesn't make anyone a dick.

  • George R. R. Martin's New Announcement Has Finally Made Me Accept He's Never Finishing The Winds Of Winter
  • I stand by the fact that even IF this was the ending he had in mind he would have been able to build to it better than the bullshit that D&D did with it. If the last season was drawn out over 3 seasons it would have made a lot more sense.

Still a crappy ending but it could have been better.

If there was any lesson learned from GoT TV show it was don't let the TV show finish before the books do.

  • This woman must have a really bad dog
  • I put my girl down a year and a half ago. She was an eight year old rottie that loved life, Loved kids and loved me. She had cancer growing in her brain/snout that was making her angry, agitated and a danger to others. Could I have waited a month or two longer? Maybe, but she wasn't happy anymore so it was time. I paid for an autopsy because I wanted to know, the cancer was everywhere in her skull/ muzzle taking up 1/5th the brain cavity.

Holding onto her for longer was unfair to the years of happiness she gave me. In the end I couldn't be selfish and had to let her go. So maybe try that route with your wife? It was the hardest decision I ever made and I cried all the way to the vet and thought about turning around a couple of times.

  • Tech Enthusiasts [Rule]
  • VLANs and least privilege access. Everytime I see this is the same thing, everyone hates on automation. Just do it right. If you need to sign up for something use a alias and different domain. Username+4@throwawaydomain.com for that annoying Philips hue login.

Have different wireless SSIDs setup for each purpose on different vlans.

    Personal/home SSID

    Guest SSID

    Work SSID

    Automation SSID

Use port security to stop automation and Guest SSID/VLAN from accessing places it shouldn't.

  • Again, those seem to just be excuses to my untrained political eye. As someone that fairly regularly deals with red tape, if the powers that be want to cut through the red tape they can and will.

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • Yeah, because they "didn't have enough to make any appreciable difference." I say similar things to people I don't want to help but I don't want to upset them. Sorry I don't have time to do that, having one more person wouldn't make that big off a difference etc.

You may very well be right. And that exact reason is the only reason they didn't send eggs. But I'm guessing their are more than that singular reason.

  • SpaceX Has Finally Figured Out Why Starship Exploded, And The Reason Is Utterly Embarrassing
  • "A loss of communication with ground control occurred as the engines shut down, leading to the rocket's self-destruction sequence.

The incident highlights significant operational failures, as engine shutdowns should not cause communication loss, indicating a lack of redundancy in systems."

For the communication redundancy part: This is just my interpretation of what I'm reading and it could be 100% wrong.

The communications need a redundant power supply/ connection not associated with the engine. Because they didn't have the communication connection and the engines were on fire the self destruct was initiated. Where if they had communications maybe they could have done something else? Turn off fuel, changed location of impact, changed location of self destruct to not be where it was.

I could be wrong, Iam in fact not a rocket scientist
