  • Edit: I just want you guys (and gals) to know that this is 100% for informational purposes only - there will be no judgement call as to whether or how we word things, nor should we expect anyone's personal opinion to change what has already been said.\tldr: tldr:[OP] A brief exchange in /daddit between me & my wife about our favorite cartoon characters](https://www/.../associates/15322552/a37d6f48e0e0c83f928

  • When I say this to people they usually get angry and yell back. Dont do that. Pretending you dont know what I said is not only annoying but also stupid. You can make it even worse by not using the full context when you want to be a dick. Make it just one word, What did you mean to say? Or Do you mean that as a compliment?. First, theres no context for it. Second... Thats not how compliments work. Third, nobody would ever think itd be funny if you didn't mean it

  • For example: yesterday I was talking w/ my wife about how, as we all know,, our elected officials, both parties.......are, by definition monopolies. They control what everyone else has access too. Right? So they can say whatever they want, when they want. Well, look, if there were any issues relating specifically TO those elected, then let me know. But most importantly - dont repeat what you already know. If there are ANY other stupid ass things you should be telling people, donT do it in a public place.3

  • You might want spelling errors removed as they tend towards being offensive. tldr>["The doctor told us we should try to drink 5L of water before going to bed. But how? We don’t know what happens between then & 7 PM. It could be that our blood sugar levels snly go off and that’s the last thing we want. Or it could just BE COVID. Wait and see what happens later today.** If it’ll happen earlier.. WE DON’T NEED TO WALK IN

  • The first two responses were excellent opportunities (for me) of reframing an issue/debate I was already having. What I found most useful about the responses was how they focused on the actual intent of their post rather than just providing a quickie excuse why they posted. So whilst it may not have been the end of time spent debating the issue, it was a good opportunity to start thinking through the issues before they got blown apart by a thousand little comments. she main problem is that people seem resigned either way to just keep having whiny little fights between parents who are struggling to cope with the

  • Edit - thanks for the awards, kind stranger. I am now going back through the comments and will be using the karma system when I get the chance. the time will come when I have to take a step back and appreciate the community more for all the thoughtful suggestions and advice that you all put forth over these past 4 years. Thank you again for creating such an amazing community. To all the parents out there: Thankyou for being open with information and resources that can help you parent well. And thankyou

  • I‘ve had a few questions already... What is a most disgusting food or drink? Why do we have to go to the bathroom? What kind does it taste like? How do animals react when they see you have diarrhea??No, seriously. This is not a soap opera. Just a couple quick questions before I dive head first into the meat of my question.

  • For example... "Theres a small cave in the mountainside just outside town called Hollow Hill. The area has been known for centuries for its unique lore and beauty, but now, nothing is as it seems. A pair ot goblin raiders have discovered this cave and are trying desperately to make their way through it, using only alchemist tools and traps. Only the very finest ingredients can be used to make this potion. If youre foolish enough to try to enter this place, you may well find yourself in some rather unpleasant company.

  • [removed]> -Removed because I don't see how there is anything wrong with the original." edit: Good morning, everyone! I hope this sub doesnt go off the rails completely. The main topics here are too drunk to remember what was said, which is entirely reasonable. There is also no harm in answering some questions below...♂️ tldr: Rant: If you followed all these guidelines exactly, you would have about

  • Edit: I am not a psychologist.* Really? You are? Fine, then come here and tell me what your pre-determined mental model of the world is (I will try to keep this brief).♂️ the post above made me wonder if you might have a moment to appreciate my humor, PJ.

  • The best people to talk with about these things is the parents. Theyre there. Their experience is shared by you. The closest thing we have to a general advice is probably the grandparents. Grandparents can give practical help, but they also tend towards apathy and disinterest. Its better to focus on trying groups first before making any grand decisions. Try talking through your problems first, then working out how you might approach the issue head-on. (One of my great loves as a dad was helping his grandparent son

  • Tldr:(edit) OP that this is the best sub out there!! Im a mom of 3, kids 9&11, i know dads who would say this is one amongst many great subs but idgaf how many others feel the same way about this one!♂️ It really makes me appreciate this group so much.3(https://www/|imgur.com/a/KfenI06) edit - thanks everyone for the kind words, support & insight. I had originally planned on just
