Bearman joins Haas
  • Both are quoting daily mail as their source.

Might be true. Daily Mail does occasionally accidentally report facts.

  • Formula 1 wants to raise annual race fee for Monaco to host Grand Prix
  • I would love to see the Formula 1 bank statement.

  • Norris fined โ‚ฌ50,000 for crossing a live track(after his crash in the sprint) and a reprimand.
  • So 25,000 euros to cross the track? Miami prices are a bit steep. How much to add an ounce of caviar to that?

  • F1's 2026 cars will have 1,000 horsepower, less downforce and weight - Symonds
  • I'd forgotten just how bad racefans site is to use on mobile.

  • Is there any way to see the amount of upvotes and downvotes a comment/post has, and if not, can this be a feature request?
  • I believe dev confirmed a short while back that it's under development in response to another similar post here.

  • New Asustor NAS. Why won't the surveillance center load?
  • There's a bug with it, introduced last month or so... expect it to take months to be fixed.

To get around it, for now, the only solution I've found is to click the tabs in the first couple of seconds of front page loading. If you wait too long, it is unresponsive.

I suspect there's a JS bug somewhere. It's not the first time Asustor has broken Surveillance and made it unusable. Last time, it took about 3 months to fix.

When it works, it's OK. Testing before releasing updates is seemingly non-existent.

  • What does "fishcake" mean to you?
  • Fishcake tends to be flaked fish mixed with a starchy ingredient (usually potato mash) that's given a crispy coating. You'll find minced cheap fish and potato used on the cheaper varieties.

So, a fillet of fish, sandwiched between potato slices and covered in a crispy batter, isn't a million miles away from the traditional fish cake.

  • Stop buying groceries... it will end soon

  • [Phillip Horton] Some updates from the F1 Commission: - Scoops permitted for F1 cars in extreme heat - Tyre blankets to remain in 2025 - No work on 2026 car allowed until 2025 - Sprint 2024 schedule/
  • What's the definition of extreme heat? Where and how are temps measured? How much notice do teams get that they're allowed? What is the definition of a scoop?

Seems like that rule is going to be a mess unless they really nail the fine print.

  • F1 forbids drivers from stopping in pit lane in new clampdown on impeding
  • It's still not clear enough. Just impose a minimum speed and make it clear that any stopped car in the pit lane is assumed to be a retirement.

This gently gently onto the track bs needs to be banned. If the tyres are shit for a lap, so what, they're shit for everyone.

  • Overwhelming majority of Russians now want to end Ukraine war
  • I don't think the war will end until Putin dies. Whether that be next week or in 20 years.

There's no way for Putin to retreat and save face. The world can't afford to allow Russia to win. It will be a horrible stalemate of slaughter until Putin dies and can be blamed by both sides, to be able to negotiate a way out.

  • Few questions on using boost.
  • 1st one, go to Settings > Filters and Blocks > Muted Instances

2nd one, don't think custom feeds is possible yet. I think i recall seeing the dev suggest it was coming in the near future. I'd suggest a second account for that.

3rd one, not possible through boost that I know of.

  • Hamilton, Verstappen, Alonso and Russell avoid penalties after investigations - RaceFans
  • Yeah, it's a shit show we get it. Take a beat and sort it out for the next race.

Personally, I would suggest a minimum speed limit in the pit lane.

Maybe even on track the stupid minimum time should be abolished and replaced with a minimum speed limit. Perhaps a faster minimum on the main straights. Drivers know where they stand with a speed restriction. Trying to stick to a time for a dynamically changing track in terms of other cars is far too hard.

  • Question to the ones that fully left Reddit
  • Cold turkey is the only way, for your mental health and the quicker demise of the cesspit that is reddit.

  • A device to allow me to spread cream cheese evenly on a bagel without getting all over my fingers.

I'm thinking some sort of rotating bagel mount with a silicone tapered spike.

  • [Motorsport] Kevin Magnussen on maximum fines
  • Instead of fining drivers, how about a "sin bin".

A mandatory session sit out requiring another driver to take their place. Serious offences could be one or more weekends out, minor offences just one or more practice sessions.

This has no bearing on driver earnings, other than future contracts based on penalties. It also gives more chances for reserve and junior drivers to get a drive.

Edit: Now I'm imagining a top gear stig waiting in the wings for a driver error. Maybe the stand-in drivers are picked at random from an FIA approved list rather than the team themselves.
