  • I used to watch AvE on long nights at work and even his tool teardowns got old quickly and the cracks started to show for me. Like every single one was him pointing out the same 10 things he knows about while bullshitting the rest.

My final straw was before covid when he felt the need to post a video on a crane that collapsed in Seattle acting like some forensic analyst giving us his "expert take" on what occurred based off some grainy news footage. I know people just like him who always want to portray themselves as the expert on everything in the most condescending way, and that drives me up the fucking wall, so I had to dip out.

  • I've been enjoying BigTime but I think they're struggling hard behind the scenes trying to replicate their old, expensive production style in one of the most expensive areas in the country (they employ like a dozen people as a fairly new YouTube channel) as if they still have that funding, along with not having the technical expertise to do all the work they want to do to their projects.

  • Thus has been the norm for years. Those red light and speed cameras in your town are also owned by private companies and it happens because these leaders are the type of people who go to Bing and type in "google" or who print their emails out only to scan them back into their computer in order to "save them" and these slimy company salespeople saw them coming from a mile away.

  • Literally this entire comment is pants on head backwards.

    Source: trust me bro?

You can Google anything I mentioned if you want a source (if you actually care to learn what you're supporting). Presidential campaigns are highly publicized. Where's your source demonstrating that Harris would have treated them any better since you want to be a stickler? Let's see some concrete examples of action from her not just more empty words.

Trump is on his way to deporting long time residents at twice the rate of Biden.

Why exclude everyone but long-term residents from the number of deportees? That sure seems like cherry-picked data. Do you feel that every deportee apart from that specific group is unworthy of concern? Can you explain why Biden didn't give them a path to citizenship so that they wouldn't forever be stuck in limbo and at the mercy of the political winds? Obama? Clinton? How about congressional Democrats in any of the dozens of congressional sessions during that time? Can you explain why these people have been treated as little more than a political football similar to abortion rights, the poor, wealth inequality, gun violence, and so much more? Why zero actual solutions have been implemented at any point in time? Why none of this is ever important outside of election season and quickly brushed to the side once they've secured victory?

Keep on convincing yourself it's better to do nothing that to reduce harm.

You mean "doing nothing" like repeating the same failed action over and over, while telling yourself you're doing something good despite literally everything pointing to the contrary? You're not "reducing harm," you're prolonging torture.

Tell those long-term resident deportees that they shouldn't be fearful because you've reduced harm. Tell those Palestinian children getting blown to pieces daily for the last two years that you've reduced their harm. Tell those parents struggling between buying Christmas presents and keeping food on the table that their harm has been reduced.

Dont worry, if they dont respond positively to you, you can always fall back on calling them self-righteous and explaining to them why it's their fault that we're still continuing down the same exact path we've been on for decades because they didn't vote hard enough for the very same people that have been leading us this whole time. Explain how you're nudging these leaders in the right direction by giving them your unwavering support every election despite them producing zero results every single time. Explain how you call these leaders 'evil' "but it's totally cool and they deserve your support because they're lesser evil."

Once you're done with that, you can then explain the end-game for the master plan. That point where you've supported the lesser evil so much that it turns good, the greater evil vanishes, and all our problems wither away. Maybe you can share that scenario with the rest of us while you're at it.

  • Fewer people are being deported now than during Biden's term (to the ire of Trump) so what are you basing this belief of her hypothetical actions on? Harris herself stated that she wanted to crack down on asylum seekers, increase the number of border patrol agents, and even warned migrants "not to come" to America while visiting Guatemala during her campaign.

You're ignoring reality in favor of an idealized image of what you think a Democrat would do. Even now, Democrats are helping Trump's agenda at every turn and yet you think they're our saviors despite the fact that they never follow through with any of their promises. It's quite ridiculous.

What separates you from a Republican who voted for Trump even though they "don't agree with everything he does?" That person sees Democrats in the same way you see Republicans, so what differentiates you? You all want things to be exactly as they are now as demonstrated by your unwillingness to change anything, and you are all responsible for it. Keep voting for evil and evil is what you get.

  • The lesser evil is still evil. People seem primed to believe that there couldn't possibly be any other choice than to elect evil people and that is where the problem lies.

The "greater" and "lesser" evil are just further mental gymnastic designations to justify supporting the candidates and policies that are destroying this nation. The "lesser evil" voter makes this designation so that they can still feel good about their choice despite acknowledging that they're choosing evil.

  • Sing it, sister.

Edit: also I'd love to hear the mental gymnastics from your downvoters on why "we should support these racist child molesters because we shouldn't let perfect be the enemy of good" and that the alternative is so much worse - like Trump the racist child molester.

  • What kind of nonsense is this coming from someone arguing that we should celebrate mediocrity and the further loss of freedom to use our devices how we want?

You're going to compare yourself to a freedom fighter engaged in warfare? Jesus christ...

  • Don't get perfection get in the way of progress. Done is better than not.

This quote gets my vote as the most annoying of the decade.

What "progress" are we seeing in Android space? The trend is to continue locking and restricting everything down like apple does. Now they're requiring developers of any app, whether in the Play store or not, to give their full name and address or you can't install it using conventional means. They're also ending open-source support for the Pixel which means Graphene will be gone at some point in the future too.
