Yup, there's now 2 types of "The Talks" the classic sex one and now one about the lies of social media.

Even though my kids aren't old enough to be on it yet, I regularly talk with them about what it is and how it "tricks you", with things like "People only post the happy parts of their lives and not the bad stuff" and going over algorithms and what they do. Hell, I've even been teaching them how to recognize AI crap

I cannot stop them from getting on social media forever, but I can sure as hell teach them about its problems ahead of time

If what you want is interaction, and you are as apolitical as you say then really, changing what comm you post to should be a non-issue, especially considering one is more active than the other.

Whether you want to participate or not, others are and your interactions on a .ml comm is only going to decrease regardless of if I crosspost your content or not

To minimize interaction with the .ml Instance , not you or any comm in particular, with the future goal of making it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate. Hence, boycott.

Lol that's not even scratching the surface. Davel, dessalines and to a lesser extent, another admin, cypherpunks; comprise almost the entire modlog for .ml, with very little activity from actual comm mods

Yea, I don't think performance wise it'll go exactly toe to toe with the 5090 but all signs point to them releasing 24GB models so that's probably what they're doing. But it's unclear if those 24GB+ models are just for the Pro/AI models they've been talking about or coming to their consumer range

and in any case, I don't intentionally hide it, I go through a decent amount of effort to both ensure what ever is crossposted shows in the crosspost listing (I HATE that "crossposted from" autogenerated link regardless of whatever about .ml, because there's already a dedicated system for showing where things are crossposted from) and OC is properly credited, just properly credited to the user themselves.
