Twitter/X new ID Verification - First Look
  • Alright alright, I get the bandwagon hate for Elon. But think of it this way. ID verification would reduce bots and malicious accounts that are used for “grass roots” advertising or to swing political elections

  • Whats your guys opinion of rog ally vs steam deck?

Ive looked up tons of reviews on preferences and game compatibility. But i want to know how it actually works in day to day life. Was it a device that will be put to the side in a couple weeks?

Heatwaves are stressing out power grids all over the world
  • I like that the article brought up the thing about a/c, A lot of people, myself included, dont think about it. A/c cools our homes/cars/offices/malls sure, but it also produces green house gasses that make the world even hotter. And then we use more a/c and the world gets hotter. And then we use more a/c and the world gets hotter.

Every day it feels like humanity is pushing closer to end times, if we arnt in it already

  • Is it me or are games really not fun anymore

The best part of video games back in the day was making memories with your friends, now it all feels like structured fun. “This is how you play the game and this is when you are supposed to have fun” Idk if that makes sense.

When I sign up under an instance, what information am I sharing to the host?

I want to sign up under this instance and host communites, but privacy is important to me.

Privacy drove me off reddit, I looked around for these answers but not sure where to come across them.

1)Am I sharing my IP address/ location with my host instance? 2)is there a log of my view history 3)i know that this instance has a heavy Piracy base, what is the risk of joining this? 4) are there general privacy concerns that I am not thinking of?

I know these may be dumb questions but as a user and not necessarily the most tech savvy, any education would help!

I do not want to be in a position where a Government creates an instance, and allows them to monitor.

    Is Lemmy searchable like reddit?
www.theverge.com Yes, Google is aware of the Reddit trick for searches. - The Verge

CNBC shared this from a Google all-hands this month: One tool to try and help with that is Google’s new Perspectives feed that’s designed to show results from humans. But now that many of the protesting subreddits have opened up, the Reddit trick isn’t as nerfed as it used to be.
