On one hand I don't agree with the burqa and don't really think it’s based in Islam and there are plenty of Muslim communities don't that wear it. This however is not an acceptable approach. It’d be like appropriating a head wrap to protest Sikhs. You’re clearly not part of the religion/culture so it isn’t an appropriate method of protest. Also she’s not wearing it right? Like you can still see her legs?

100% agree, unfortunately that’s entirely what they do either directly or by supporting lobbying groups who pretend to be “thinking of the children”.

There is no context in which spiking someone’s drink is acceptable to do. It feels especially inappropriate given you felt to the need to state you and the brother “view her sexually”. It’s basic consent. Given most drink spiking results in the perpetrator attempting sexual assault why you would even need to ask this and risk normalising it for your younger brother. The family friend should be the one being supported. Very much worth asking where someone in grade 9 even got the idea to engage in this behaviour. YTA and so is your drink spiking brother. Incredibly concerning someone wanting to be a doctor even needs to ask this assuming this story isn’t made up for rage baiting.

One state in the US but, fair enough. Though a lot of the wording for this seems account based, instead of an OS baked “kid mode”, which again just seems like a variation of parental control which already exists. The point is this problem already has a solution not being utilised by the majority of the world’s internet user base. This won’t fix parents just buying a device to palm off to their kids, because if setting up parental controls is beyond them, setting up an account for them properly likely will be too.

Honestly, I don't picture this happening. The main problem is parents parking their kids in front of screens or devices with internet access and then just bailing. Most devices have the means to do this and have so for a long time, it’s called “parental control”. It’s been a thing since the late 90s in my experience and probably earlier. The problem is it requires some time/effort to set up. I’m not advocating for the digital ID solution to this problem necessarily, just to be clear. However, even anti virus suites have this ability, routers have this ability, hell even browsers do if I recall but people and parents have been hands off about it.

Now they are complaining and expecting the entire internet to change or blaming online porn companies. The alternative is realising that letting kids have unfettered and unmonitored access to the internet, the place where you can easily view graphic footage of people dying, is actually a bad idea; bordering on neglect. Though this ignores places like Tik Tok, YouTube and a lot of social media marketing their platforms as “kid friendly” when they’re anything but, probably a different discussion however.

I personally think new accounts should be limited here too. The past couple of weeks especially I’ve noticed an increased amount of 1 day old accounts posting scams. Region blocking wouldn’t work due to VPNs and the fact that they’re everywhere. I seriously doubt India and Bangladesh cover 99%.

For genuine new accounts being able to comment but not post for 15-30 days isn’t that big an issue. For a troll/spammer it hugely limits their ability to resume shitting up a website.

Pretty keen to give this a go once the 1.22 update hits. Tried RL dregora, which was arse. TFC was alright but maybe broken? Better minecraft has been solid and I’ve settled there until the update arrives.

You hit on the reason I suspect the website (especially mobile) is absolutely rubbish. To get people to install the app so it can spy on your mic and camera to harvest data for $$$. Jokes on them, it just reminds me why I deleted the app and reduces time I spend on the site overall.

It’s hard to tell these days if the Russian political class is selective towards stupidity or if it’s innate. Do they honestly believe anyone will buy this? Sailing a spy ship through/near their territorial waters, when you have a history of cutting cables and sabotage; is directly in their interests and undermines their security. Especially when you point lasers at their military aircraft. Few things more infuriating than a stupid narcissist.

I wanted to and I agree, it being semi open wouldn’t have been an issue for me but too much goodwill was lost for me to do so unfortunately.

Yeah same here i even came back when it was “getting good again” and had a resurgence but the selling shit that was literally free in other games, nah.

And the “10 years” game gets the premature death it deserves. I was super psyched when this was announced only to then hear it was free to play. Released broken, with a fully functionally MTX store because of course. Campaign as an afterthought, no forge, no game mode selection (until backlash got it implemented). A shit show from start to finish.

I thought similar. I know most of these aircraft need to be able to fly with just one engine but why not abort? Maybe since the engine detached the warnings they got weren’t enough to try aborting so late into the roll? Hopefully the NTSB report sheds some light into it.
