I am not an american. All I know is if citizens just keep doing nothing the us will become just like the fascists in Germany did in WWII. It is up to them to do something or nothing. Time will tell.
Americans will just get mad post on Reddit and then go back to watching YouTube, Twitch in the hovel of their choice until ice comes for them and they will say no no not me you said it was the “others”. They are not watching the news. Bills to make furries the bad guys. Bills to make 2SLGBTQIA+ bad guys. Starting to grumble(by grumble I mean “we need to outlaw this stuff” talk) about what should and should not be on Twitch and other platforms. Grumbling about gamers and certain games. The list of buried stuff in the bills that are coming out is staggering.

When Reddit went public it was scooped up by hedgies and other nefarious actors. Slowly but surely it is changing for the worse. I just got booted from Reddit on a 9 year account (as an added bonus they nuked my other 2 accounts as well even though no posts near time of nukage) for pretty tame (compared to other stuff I have seen) stuff. I predict that Reddit will be indistinguishable from truth social within 5 years or less.

As a boomer whose parents (both) were in world war 2, I listened to what the horrors that were perpetrated by the fascists and axis on the daily until I was a teen. I saw shows, testimonials and documentaries that all disappeared in the late 70’s and replaced with tamer stuff. I would rather die than live in a fascist regime.

Yes, I am 67 yrs old. Far as I know I am on a different system (Lemmy) than all those others? Got wiped on Reddit and quit all the other ones years ago. Sorry if I am doing this incorrectly.
