Biden to sign executive order expanding access to contraception
  • From medicaid.gov "93,373,794 individuals were enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP in the 50 states and the District of Columbia that reported enrollment data for February 2023."

Seems like a fair number of people.

  • r/The_Donald now on Lemmy (edit: not anymore)
  • Okay, if The Donald is welcome here, and people are just coping by blocking, how about r/watchpeopledie?

Personally I detest Drumph and his Nascar possum farmer fans, but I loved seeing people eaten by escalators. If Lemmy's cool with the one, I'm recreating the other. I mean why not.

I'd happily live without the joy of gore, if it meant that flat earthers and conspiracy theorists weren't welcome either. But if the one is fine, then the other should be too.

  • rule
  • I realize this is advice not everyone can use, but I keep throwing it out there just in case someone can. If you're in the US and struggling, but able to move states, Ohio practically saved my life. Expanded Medicaid paid all of my doctor's bills until I got SSI, and now the MPAP program pays my partner's Medicare fees. PIPP keeps the electricity and gas at 6% of our income each. Property is affordable in a lot of areas because it's economically depressed, and jobs are scarce. We used the covid stimulus as a down payment on an FHA mortgage on a legitimately decent 5 bed 3 bath house, for $345 a month.

In California we'd be living in our car.

  • At least he actually created Facebook himself.

  • Rich Lives matter
  • Since the CEO went down with his s̶h̶i̶p̶ sub, the lawyers will have to get creative.

  • What do you think of subreddits protesting with rule changes (e.g., only allowing John Oliver)?
  • If the goal was to create more work for Reddit's paid employees, annoy Spez, draw more attention to the whole debacle, and motivate more people to try other platforms, then it's been a success.

Personally I find it entertaining, the way any disaster is entertaining from afar.

  • What's the age cut off for socially acceptable gaming
  • 50 year old female, been playing video games since the Atari 2600. With the SO since 1996.

Methinks OP just needs to meet more women. There is no "cut off age at which video games are no longer an acceptable pastime".

  • Juste received this love letter from reddit's admins
  • If they aren't making enough money now, they'll just love paying people to keep popular subreddits up.

  • 'No kill' meat, grown from animal cells, is now approved for sale in the U.S.
  • I wonder if, in the very distant future, people will be able to grow their own meat at home from a small sample. And if so, whether anyone will try making burgers from themselves, when they get a cut or a scrape.

  • Anyone have comfort movies or tv shows?
  • Red Green. Supernatural. SG1. And forgive me, but for those particularly shitty days, Beavis and Butthead.

  • I'm on here, Lemmy, Squabbles, and Fark. Fark doesn't seem to be getting much traction though.
