Absolutely - if anything, there's a reluctance to use formal titles in the UK in general.
I used to teach at university - students and staff alike just use first names when addressing each other. When signing emails, we just use our first name, no letters, job title, anything.
It's even something specifically touched on in our orientation guide for foreign students.
As for newspapers and Prime Ministers specifically, one of the biggest newspapers, The Guardian, has a cartoonist who has always drawn David Cameron with a condom covering his head. There's absolutely no deference shown to Prime Ministers here.
I'm seeing a lot of international messages getting this wrong, so this is how you refer to the Prime Minister of the UK.
First, we normally refer to the PM just by name, like anyone else. So, "Keir Starmer" or "Mr Starmer".
"Prime Minister" is not used as a title like "President" is. He's not "Prime Minister Starmer". He's just "the Prime Minister" or "the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer".
Unusually, this new PM is also a knight. Of course, this has its own rules.
If you want to use this title, it's not quite as simple as replacing "Mr" with "Sir'. The first name is more important than the surname here. He's not "Sir Starmer". He's "Sir Keir Starmer" or "Sir Keir".
Hope it helps!
I'd recommend something like a Renault Zoe over a Leaf for old people for one reason - the handbrake.
The handbrake in the Leaf is a pedal where the clutch normally lives. Even after driving for some time, I'd instinctively move my foot over it when approaching roundabouts, etc. As for the few times I pressed it accidentally, well, I'm glad there were no cars behind me.
I've had a second hand Leaf and currently drive a second hand Zoe. They are the two best cars I've ever had.
The Leaf was quite old, but the battery was still over 90%. It definitely might have something to do with living in Northern England, though - our climate isn't exactly stressful for batteries!
The Zoe was only a few years old, and the battery is essentially as new. I only replaced the Leaf because my sister-in-law lives over an hour away, and we couldn't do the return trip on a single charge.
I think you might need to qualify which country you are talking about.
In the US, where both bread and peanut butter are both hyper-processed, then no.
US bread is very different from European bread. Outside of the general quality of the key ingredients, and banned fillers and preservatives, US bread has huge amounts of sugar.
Similarly, the quality of peanut butter is very different. In particular, there's a push against the use of palm oil in peanut butter.
So, while it's probably not optimal for long-term nutrition in either case, I think where you are getting the food from probably makes a difference.
There's the Rainbow Warriors, they're a UM successor chapter dating all the way back to Rogue Trader.
Just for balance, I can see how you could think shipping slaves from Africa to America via the Pacific and then the North Sea (of all places?) was unlikely. Maybe this person just isn't aware of the Atlantic Ocean.
Ah, they're great! GW missed a trick by not making space versions of these guys - they could have kept using the cool creature design whilst simultaneously reworking the problematic fluff.
Is this what happens if you type 5318008 too often?
Fact 1 - sexually active people subconsciously look at peoples' crotches when meeting them.
Fact 2 - evolution doesn't fine tune things if they're good enough to get the job done well.
So the fact that pubic hairs are unsightly crazy-looking things might not be because they are fine tuned to be like that - it might just be because they do their job well enough and they just ended up looking like that.
What job could that be?
To confirm visually that you are sexually mature.
That may literally be it - a localised fuzzy indicator of whether or not you're able to make babies.
I remember reading this exact article as a kid!
This was back when White Dwarf still showed you how to construct buildings and tanks out of household rubbish. Good times.
We'll still have diversity (such as it is) - we have more than two parties.
If the local elections are anything to go by, however, the Tories have slipped into third place for the first time in history.
(Of course, I'm not daft enough to think local elections accurately predict general elections).
I'm not trying to downplay the reality of serious health concerns sometimes being behind food habits, but I think I need to say...
Picky eating is an absolutely normal part of child development. Anecdotally, both of my kids went through two distinct phases of picky eating, at around 3-5 and 8-11.
They gradually grow out of it. All you can do is try to make sure what they are eating is nutritious enough while they are going through it.
Dry cereal always worked (still does!) as a nutritious snack. Granted, the nutrition has all been sprayed on, but it's still there.
A little mixed tub of Cornflakes/Branflakes/Rice Crispies/Coco Pops always goes down well.
Nerf Herder have a song called Courtney about Courtney Love.
But this is exactly the point - the market isn't free, it's being controlled. Primarily by companies that are buying up as many properties as they can.
The trouble is that ratcheting up the tax on additional homes won't discourage anyone - the additional costs can just be passed on to the renters.
I'd suggest making it illegal for companies to own residential property for longer than 12 months.
Hopefully this would free up enough homes to bring prices back down.
I think it depends on the convention used in each country, so there isn't one global correct answer.
In Britain the convention is Ground, 1st Floor, 2nd Floor.

Hi,
I've recently bought my first EV - a 2014 Nissan Leaf - and hoping someone a bit more knowledgeable than me could help :)
The car itself has a Type 1 and CHAdeMo socket.
I have a Type 2 to Type 1 charging cable and a separate adapter plug, but I've found that some charging stations have Tesla branding and weird two-part plugs on that don't seem to fit.
In the interests of being able to use as many charging stations as possible, I'd really like to know which adapter would be most useful to buy!
(I've mentioned UK in the title, as I'm aware America likes to do its own thing when it comes to plugs.)
Any help would be really appreciated!
