There needs to be a "Nudity" or "Pornography" tag that users can correctly block. I don't want to block NSFW content, but I also don't want to be absolutely slammed with NSFW content on my main feed. I used this during down ltime at work.
As for the NSFW tag, no idea. Sorry lol, I've got NSFW currently blocked until it can be managed better.
Intellectual property protects smaller innovators from larger companies. Imagine if you developed a novel process for solving a problem much cheaper than current methods. Now imagine if you started making some serious money doing this, and it starts to make some noise. What's to stop Amazon from just copying your process, and making it better/cheaper? They have the money to completely down you out.
Without Intellectual Property upkeep rights, any megacorp will just copy your idea and sell it for less at a broader scale, and cut you out of the market.

Agreed, but I can settle with one person, a designated champion, to brave the dark waters and bring us our daily allotment of Tales from the Crypt Bestof, prorevenge, and BestofRedditorUpdates. It keeps me from ever going there.
I mean...I don't mean to go back...but my hands get twitchy. I look away for a minute, and muscle memory kicks in....and by the time I look back down....it's there.....it's Reddit.
Omg, we need to start a Redditors Anonymous for lemmy.
Yeah, I mean, they care about it....when it happens to someone they know.
It's much more important to concentrate on keeping white men, or....other color men...I guess...at the top of the food chain. Can't have any of them uppity women thinking they can be a man now, ya hear? What happened to the good o'le Trad wife? There was respect in that there profession.
No....too good for the modern woman.
It's tragic that all of us God fearing men have to consistently subjugate those around us because the only two things that we've ever accomplished in our life times is being born white, and being born a man....in America. It's like, we have no other self redeeming qualities so we have give meaning to our lives by trying to take it from those closest to us. Makes total fucking sense right?
The shittiest part about it, is they don't even care. If you've ever seen interviews with these people, it's like interviewing a Bond villain... The only thing that matters to them is their own greed.
Anybody that even gets involved with the industry is just as bad. It's kind of funny, as an engineer, we have an ethical creed that we're supposed to follow... How any sort of petroleum engineer is able to ethically work in the petroleum industry is beyond me.
Looks beautiful! How did you go about selecting your pick ups? Im looking at modifying my Gibson SGJ to see if I can get some new sounds out of it and wanted to know if you had any ideas.
I've been trying to get into SE, but fuck me is it hard. I made it up to space and my first two planets, but it's a hell of a lot to manage. I've taken a break from it. Hopefully I can get back into it after some time.
It's also (typically) modeled in such a way that your software is consistently updated to new versions on release. You get active hotfixes, patches and improvements as they are released.
Most people jump software versions in stages of about 2-3 years. You'll find a lot of SaaS packages will be priced as if you were instead purchasing the software at those stages.
All in all, if you have every intention of using the software regularly, it's priced well and typically makes for a much better user experience.
I think that it's worth it to note that even though only 3% left, we're a big part of fleshing out a new and improving competing website. Lemmy may not have seemed appealing a few months ago, but holy shit, its taken off in the last month. It'll be really interesting to see how we grow over the next year as we consistently keep leaching people from reddit.
So many hacks nowadays aren't even people intending to target you. If you plugged your toaster into the internet, and left it on an unsecured server, both the toaster and the server would be hacked before the end of the day. Bots are constantly probing for unsecured cameras, security devices, laptops, servers, Wi-Fi networks, really anything that's plugged into the internet. The easiest ones are cameras that are installed with a predetermined password that is shred betwee# n all sold devices. Of course the manufacturers will tell you to change the password, or something along those lines, but how often do people actually read the instructions?
Damn, I had no idea. Still sucks. Dude was a legend.
I just don't get why prolific, rich people tend to off themselves. Is it because they feel that they already have everything and there's nothing else to live for? Or is it that they feel isolated, and that everyone wants them for the wrong reasons?
What is this?
