  • Got wrapped up into that a while back, an interesting tangent is the song So Do I by DCO, which was similarly lost until one of the band's original members recognized it and posted it online. Said member did confirm that TMMS/Like The Wind is not a song they made, tho.

  • How did you get your username?
  • Combined a few numbers that are meaningful to me, turned it into hex, and here we are.

  • Which YouTuber still creates high-quality videos to this day?

μMath+ is great for working with complex problems

I use a NewPipe fork called PipePipe that is a bit more stable from my experience

    Aurora Store is great

Markor is my go-to notes app, lets you write notes in markdown among other things

Trail Sense is neat both for its intended purpose as a general hiking toolkit, but also as a way to check phone sensors

    Total Commander, because of course

Organic Maps is an offline maps app based on OpenStreetMap data, it's great

  • Agreed. Gotta make the community friendly somehow

  • Why
  • To be fair to Canonical, those messages can be disabled by deleting /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/20apt-esm-hook.conf, but that's still kinda unacceptable IMO.

They should've just disabled the messages unless you actually attached a pro license

(disclaimer: I mainly use kubuntu as my debian-based distro of choice, because gnome/gdm3 makes my eyes bleed)

  • Quirks with "Open in browser"
  • Same. Unfortunately I have exactly 0 experience with mobile app development in general, let alone flutter... Damn, now I gotta learn that

  • Quirks with "Open in browser"
  • I tried building that, but it really didn't want to open anything (suspect it has to do with me not having chrome on my linux machine)

Ended up cloning v0.9.18 and replacing the bit in lib/url_launcher.dart that opens urls with flutter_custom_tab's launch, works great (hooray for open-source)

  • What Android app should I use to browse Lemmy?
  • Hmm, haven't run into that yet. Noted.

  • What Android app should I use to browse Lemmy?
  • I'm currently switching between Liftoff, Thunder, and Jerboa, altho Jerboa refuses to let me sign in, 'cause server version BS.

Liftoff has a nice UI IMO, and I like Thunder's navigation, so I'll prolly end up using one of the 2. Notably, Liftoff is more feature-complete than Thunder, so... Depends on what you want I guess.

Well that got out of hand quickly.

    Have a nice day!
