Shitposting aside: there is a valid point on there. Because we can't see our opposites in any discussion on the internet, we cannot take clues into account we otherwise might have. This leads to far-reaching misinterpretations. Imagine someone with a very weird and overly simplistic political stance they defend with tooth and nail. Now imagine that person to be some activist with a cap with political slogans on it. Okay, and now imagine the person to be not that, but a 15-year-old who just started to grasp the world around them but thinks they have it all figured out (puberty doing puberty things). Your reaction to either of them would be VASTLY different, wouldn't it. Imagine how many stupid internet fights would never have happened if it was known that one of the participants is a literal child that can't have a clue what they are talking about yet.

Yet, not knowing that we've been arguing with a child for the last hour and a half, we will leave the discussion with the impression that there are grown up people out there thinking childish bullshit. Don't get me wrong, there are those people, but they are not as frequent as one might guess from the internet.

He was between a rock and a hard place. Clearly he didn't know what to do.

But I have dealt with plenty of shit to have a good relationship with my wife's imperfect family. And she has dealt with tons of shit to put up with my imperfect family. A good relationship is two people who do things for the other person. It's reciprocal and kind, even in unpleasant situations. This guy didn't choose his family and he won't change them. All they can do is choose to do it differently in their own house and raise their children differently.

Don’t get me wrong, Italian piss is good and all, but the reason I prefer French piss is because it still has the Europeany piss taste that Italian piss has, but tastes a bit more sour which gives it a richer flavor. It also feels a bit more classy than Italian piss. Italian piss is a close runner-up though. I hope you take this into consideration, Thank you.

I try to moderate myself in the face of arguments, trolls, or downvotes on my opinions by remembering that I'm here for entertainment value first and education as a close second in the relevant subs.

You can't take what other people think too seriously. I'm not saying be an asshole; rather, there are more important things in life deserving of your time and attention than the Internet. If it's not making you happy, move on.

To add on to this. If social media is making you feel terrible, hateful, sad, or like you have no control, then you have to take a break from it. It doesn’t have to be along one, and you can come back later, but I see many people on the internet stuck in this trap which ruins their mental health. Social media is supposed to be a tool to help you connect with others and entertain you, not make you feel scared or anxious at the world.
