Just wanted to show my love for potatoes. They have such a wide range of possible flavours, they make me actually full, they can be healthy or unhealthy, they're so great. Mashed potatoes are super easy to make and taste amazing, potato soup literally one of my top 3, sliced potatoes in a pan with some oil and stuff super great. So many options to prepare this devine food. Such a basic flavour, yet able to expand to such delicacies! In my eyes, it's the water of food (in that water is cheap, tasty and health and my favourite drink). We need more potato appreciators, cause it's just so good. Such a genuine good food, liked by almost everyone in one way or another, so versatile yet basic, so thick and filling but also lightly palettable. And if you're lucky, you can even grow them in your backyard! Literally amazing, growing potatoes yourself!? Insane! (Live in Germany, the climate here makes it easily possible. My grandma does it and they taste great)
Thank you, potatoes of the world, for existing. Thank you for filling our stomaches with something lovable, tasty and nutritious. Thank you for bringing us together to celebrate the potato, in all it's glorious forms.
In 1994 I was in Idaho and picked up The Hot Potatoes Cook book. There are so many ways to enjoy potatoes, 238 pages of glorious recipes. I got rid of most of my cook books years ago except this one it has a spot in my kitchen forever.
